  1. I rode the bike a few times after I bought it and before I took off the tank to start doing the 12K maintenance. The low fuel light did in fact turn on, then it turned off, and back on. I think it is affected by the fuel sloshing around in the tank (on a hard and fast stop the light turned off). When I drained the tank I would say there was still about a gallon and a half of fuel still in it. Does that sound right? The low fuel indicator goes on at 1.5 gallons remaining? So, yeah, that all sounds right. There is close a US gallon trapped on the right side of the tank. the light begins to glow faintly with about 0.8-1.0 US gallon available to the left side petcock. Going uphill, leaning right, or applying throttle will extinguish the light. I watch my fuel odometer as an indication that the low fuel light will begin to make *suggestions*.
  2. Total conversion to twin plate? What about the gearbox input hub?
  3. Yeah, mon: http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=19641 And must have the correct cables: http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=19612&p=213372
  4. Seriously: http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=20071&p=223768
  5. Oh absolutely. I want to be sure this setup works well enough before I bother everyone with details. I get a good nice long ride in, and I'll put the particulars here http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=19827 There ya go. Once clarified, this procedure needs to be pinned in "How to . . ."
  6. @czakky.. I have several parts left from my "alternate" to pawl arm spring project. If you want to give it a shot, I'll send you what I have and a list of what I don't have to complete this as I did it. This evening I got the last pieces on and all the fluids in. Very short ride around the block. It all seems to be working. Smell of baking motor paint is abundant. The shifting is very nice with the LuckyChuck arm in. The extension spring on the shift pawl arm is working. The RAM clutch is a Very light pull. 1 finger will do it. Shake down this weekend! This totally needs its own thread. Seriously.
  7. Wow! Extra credit on that alpha-numeric translation. E36/7 is BMW's production designation for the Z3 based "roadster." Sadly, I can't find a single place name in my vehicle history, so had to resort to histrionics.
  8. My, my: here it is along with the fabulous *burgundy* . . . from the "2001" catalog:
  9. Yours is the only tank color like that I've ever seen until Amarrache showed up. I remember we talked about whether it was the early V11 Green that had faded. But, no, it is it's own unique color: Clearcoat light metallic lime?
  10. XR7-XR4Ti-V70-328i-XJ-JKU/S-E36/7 . . . No wonder I can't find my way around!
  11. Same as the axle nuts which can be pressed into tool service.
  12. Funny, yeah, me too, but I hear people referring to the parts diagrams like this. Kinda has surprised me, actually.
  13. You can purchase directly from Moto Guzzi? I did a search and couldn't find a MG site (at least in English) that sold parts. You can purchase directly from Moto Guzzi? I did a search and couldn't find a MG site (at least in English) that sold parts. I usually find all I need at MG Cycles http://www.mgcycle.com/or Harpers Guzzi http://www.harpermoto.com/ for oem. Harpers has a fiche as well. There are other vendors too I recently had great results with the parts website at MotoInternational in Seattle, Washington. Shipping to you, down the coast, should be very reasonable and fast. I have learned to place the order online and call a few days later for verification of availability. I have found it super-helpful to have downloaded the correct parts "fiche" for my V11 and use that to divine correct part numbers from the assembly diagrams.
  14. With a big, silly grin.
  15. That's correct. Specs are here: "Decent Tune-up" http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=19610
  16. yep. Ostensibly, if you removed one Torx fastener and replaced it with a hex drive with the same fastening torque, then did the other, the TPS would end up *purdy close* to where it was before.
  17. What is the list of the "full set of parts" you installed?
  18. I can bring the cables if someone can bring a computer device with guzzidiag. Anyone hoping to baseline their TPS should replace the Torx fasteners in advance. Of course, that would also require setting the TPS. So: Catch 22

    Decent Tune-up

So, Q1: yep, dark pipe exits are normal. Q2: Yes, baseling the TPS and zeroing the CO address this in their own special ways. Absolutely worth doing on any V11. Q3: This ECU uses various sensors to approximate the outcome without oxygen sensors. Others can explain this better than I.
  20. Originals are 5000Ω. The resistor tips on the early Champion items come out of the caps. If the NGK are like that, you could simply make up new 90º tips on your ignition wires and insert them into the rubber caps.
  21. Your tank is probably fine. Especially if the coating was applied early and accurately. Nastiness trapped in the Nylon pushes the paint up ("bubbles"). Really obvious.
  22. Seriously, a V11 is like a musical instrument. You'll never be *finished with it*. And that's a good thing!
  23. Open to atmosphere. No connection. Last question about the V11? Hm . . . Seriously, a V11 is like a musical instrument. You'll never be *finished with it*. And that's a good thing!
