  1. I will give you what I have from a Mk IV manual.... Nut, layshaft securing....16-18 kgm or 115-130 ft/lbs. Nut, layshaft safety.......7-7 kgm or 50-57 ft/lbs. These appear to be the items you want.. There is a torque table on pg. 33 with no real info that these are what you want. Add LocTite blue to these nuts also. HTH
  2. Google motorcycle paint codes...
  3. I had my CF bikini fairing & CF fender clear coated & Zaino polish/protectant for the finishing touch..... WOW
  4. Is that a factory exhaust on the last picture?
  5. I would consider something a little better than the lighter socket.... This is the style connector used on BMW bikes. You will of course have to use the male & female connectors. http://www.rallylights.com/detail.aspx?ID=419
  6. No, you want the rear wheel to track in the center of the path of the front wheel. You also want to get a small amount of preload on the pivot bearings.
  7. $5000.00 later and you will have it like you want it ! Somebody on here can help you w/parts & part #s to go with bars instead of clip-ons. Keep the old stuff if you decide to go back.
  8. Looks pretty good. How 'bout a closer shot?
  9. Well well you are on the right track !
  10. A couple of endos and the conditioned response will be very effective !
  11. Zaino (sp?) is the sealant/protectant to use to complete the job........
  12. Good enough
  13. Here's one for you to look into. Stein-Dinse has an aluminum tank on their site... I assume it fits the V11 http://www.sd-tec.de...8cc15d96e320ff5
  14. I'm with Jaap............ Do you accept PayPal ?
  15. From what I hear arthritis is almost as painful as a bee sting
  16. I ordered about $300 worth of fork seals n bushings from Joe Eish to find out you take nothing for granted on these bikes...... On a good note he took them back w/no restocking fee. That is why I buy EVERYTHING I can from him !
  17. Short frame bikes ['99-'01] had the padded top & external fuel pump. Long frame bikes ['02+] had the smooth top & internal fuel pump. AFAIK, the tanks are all same length/fitment, just the frame in front of the tank mount was extended slightly [approx. 1"?], but you might want to consult a copy of Guzziology or contact MI for confirmation. If you've already got an external pump tank, it would be a minor chore to convert to the internal pump, but it eliminates the hot-start vapor lock problem. If you already have an internal pump tank, you won't want to convert to an external fuel pump, because you'll be creating problems for yourself. Don't be so sure about the info....... My bike has the external pump w/pad on top of tank and it is listed as a 2003 Sport model.
  18. I "think" around $750 USD.........
  19. Good luck.....It should be beautiful when you get it.
  20. You are replacing the tank because........? Who is going to make the new tank for you? You need to verify everything with the person fabricating the new tank as to the application...........
  21. The aluminum is not affected by alchohol or any types of fuel addatives. The stock plastic tanks were made to be compatible with the fuels at that time...
  22. A person needs to inspect the filter mating surface to make sure the old filter seal does not stick to the engine... I do this every time. After losing the oil and it spraying everywhere you will learn to do a visual to make sure you are screwing the filter to the block.
  23. Are these the same things as "Cow magnets"? I have seen (just about ) everything attached to fuel lines..... Aluminum foil wraps, cow magnets, clothes pins to name a few. Fuel addatives too. The most incredible was moth balls, not from moths but....well you know, the stinky things you put in closets...........
  24. You are lucky !
