  1. The V50 is slowly becoming an interesting bike to me these days. As I get more feeble. Do they rev high (for a twin) like a V11?
  2. Inspirational as usual, and at the right time. Thanks thoughts provoked: Putin PPK Stelvio has a belt Curious Italian passers by. And then, there's the possibility of the moniker "Moto Grappa" having a back story of some depth??.. sounds a bit Guzzisti, no?
  3. "hillbilly haiku"
  4. as in replicant? (p.s. anyone know what this emoji is?)
  5. so std electrics.... pull the 30a fuse, jump, re-install fuse?
  6. what is the simple way to do this?
  7. Welcome Ratso88 much fun ahead
  8. Psychology of a moto-enthusiast is a daring subject. As a life long rider I will say that I had ZERO interest in Guzzi until 2002 when I saw the Tenni in the flesh. At that moment I knew that all other mfg's had abandoned me. But they say love is a convergence of chemistry and timing, and the door of Zen opened wide for me. kensho - seeing into ones true nature. So yeah, ... I'm odd.
  9. Nice. I still have and use my old setup, all my old vinyl, and a collection given to me. I stream in the house but the shop gets the old setup. I still search online sellers for stuff that imo should only be listened to on vinyl. like....
  10. you've already given us the bonus points
  11. loved these guys in my "formative" years So ahead of their time. Rip Ian McDonald
  12. Loved it-- but you misspelled cluster****
  13. WTH?
  14. I don't know why anyone would hesitate to paint their motorcycle, .. green or otherwise. It's just a process like everything else. It is a multi stage paint but problems or difficulties are easily overcome with knowledge and experience. I suspect Gmc28's paint will 'nail it' and the only ones who'll know it's not factory are those reading this topic. Guzzi did it. It can't be that complicated.
  15. Daylight but not direct sun is always best to my eyes. I assume you'll have an original piece to compare to when you get a big enough sample? Were you going to try the formula that someone on the forum worked out awhile back, using House of Color I think? Seeing many photos of greenies and how they can look different, I can believe it won't be easy.
  16. I think that ad is very old. Can't recall it's been so long but I think I once inquired about it, with no response.
  17. The Tapoco Lodge. Pronounced Ta-PO-ka, as I was told by the attending server, is nearly biker perfection. A lovely building isolated in a seriously beautiful spot, with a dedicated 'motorcycles only' lot with covered spaces. Located a few miles from the infamous "tail of the dragon" and great roads in any direction. I've not stayed there but the atmosphere and menu at lunch are "high end-but on casual Friday-nearly an office party-bordering on the last half of a wedding reception." I'll bet the rooms and associated features are equally pleasing.
  18. Bryan confirmed my room today. What a great host. We had a nice chat about motorcycling. Docc, you beat me to the room reservation warning. I got the last 'deluxe' room which would leave I suspect the 'basic' and 'premium' All great rooms and fairly priced IMO. Can't wait to get there! ... and um ... bring tools?
  19. Yes the pre 98 are my favorite, like the SP you've posted. I didn't care for what came after. The SP was better equipped than the CR but I preferred the half fairing look.. I like to see motors.
  20. I booked a room for 'Yamaha-come-KTM' Bill W and myself tho Bill's yet to confirm this far in advance. That'll be one less room to consider for the group.
