I agree docc. I take a pragmatic approach to value and believe that value of a particular item is set at the point of sale. That doesn't help someone trying to decide what to ask. Face it, Guzzi is sort of an odd bike in the US, and spine frames are even more unusual. Real value is found in the passion of the buyer and the disconnect of the seller. Dealerships don't care so they ask for the moon. IMhO, one penny less than $3000 for your bike is giving it away and anything over 5k is flirting with high retail. That said, "there's an ass for every seat" a dealer friend once told me. Start high, see what washes up.

Exactly. Check the oil and tires... When I could remember to, & don't use the wrong brake fluid. Mine had the dual exhaust exit driver side just in front of the rear tire, meGod what a sound.

I agree with scud. I laid mine down and it cost me a few hundred to fix. (I did have some items in my pile of stuff) Leave the Ins Co out of it, if it truly is lite damage. Start here with a list of what you'll need and see what washes up. It'll leave you with a good title.... and a good story. See what they offer, I'll bet no more than 3k. Of course you might be injured.... so there's that to consider.

seems like a fair price. that's a 'before' liner photo?

yeah just personal preference. No functional problems. I guess I don't like esthetic "covers" in general. Though it would certainly solve the problem. I'm lucky with my tanks I don't need to pursue the sealant route to find out. I'd certainly have to feel good about the process before doing it. I don't recall seeing any bubbling on early tanks, only later ones. Anybody out there have bubble experience? This also has me thinking about the process of mfg of these tanks. Why some bubble, some not. Thickness of material throughout can't be consistent.

If I could get a replica aluminum tank like this one for under $2k I'd do it. I personally wouldn't like a tank under a false cover on the V11. The next route for me would be a standard tank dried out and sealed internally. It should not expand or bubble after that and any fitment problem that may still exist, make adjustments to the frame mounts.

Just something to put into your bag of possibilities. Looking back over this it seems that you get it going... and then it stops. I'm reminded of a very strange and - tough to find - problem I had a while back. Though my problem was blowing fuses, it was directly related to forward motion. Turned out the side stand safety switch wire blew up against the head pipe and melted, causing the fuse to blow. Then It dropped away and was good with a new fuse until I got up to speed and it shorted again. Took me a week to find it. Reading about your damaged sensor wires made me recall my problem and wonder. The same scenario may apply to a fueling problem if you have a filter that's coming apart and under increased flow is sending bits of crap down the line. On a side note if I may, you have a great attitude to this dilemma. It will serve you well getting to the bottom of the problem. I for one, likely wouldn't have reacted in quite the same positive way.

the phase sensor gap is quite sensitive. when you get it out and see the shim thickness (maybe more than one) you'll understand how important the correct gap is. There are 7 shim sizes available to use. I pulled mine to stop it leaking and replaced the O ring with a "similar" one and the bike wouldn't start. I then replaced it with the old one using a 'touch' of 1194 sealant. It worked fine and did not leak anymore. The base plate of the sensor is easily bent with too much tightening as I discovered. I don't know how to set the gap, I just got lucky and got it back to spec.

I don't doubt the Chinese make a good product, mostly. I just want to send my dollars to support what remains of the western world. My last year purchase of Dunlop Roadsmart 3's were made in Japan. I think their racing tires are USA made.

Great review here. https://ultimatemotorcycling.com/2020/02/29/metzeler-sportec-m9-rr-tire-review-crash-tested-at-ascari/ Looks like Pirelli owns them. I like knowing where they are made as well. You likely won't be sure till you read it on the side of the tire.

A rear? they show no product found for GU30653001 rear caliper search. This pops up... Front brake caliper - AP8213196 for $115. and 6-8 weeks delivery. Superseded part maybe??

Great, glad it worked out. IMO it doesn't sound loud, also IMO you won't like the sound with db killers in.

I "think" 14.2 at a slight blip is good. What do you get at 2500-3000?
