  2. Don't know who did the machining on those, but the source motor is a 550 Honda with 2 cyl added. Should be quite reliable. They didn't use 6 carbs like the CBX did. Sweet bike
  3. I just happen to have my motor out. The intakes are 46mm OD
  4. What scud said, and I would add what I did is move the gears slightly with my fingers till each spins freely. spin the rear wheel to be sure. Pay close attn to how the selector mechanism comes apart to get it back right, since it has to come out -and go back partially assembled. Neutral is where scud said. You can be sure of neutral by observing that the neutral switch "spring ball" falls into the small dimple on the back side of the selector gear.
  5. I love the bike Bill. Arrow high pipe standard? And is that a steel tank at last? Looks like it 'could' be a scrambler if ya wanted to. I spent almost 2 years at Bragg... long ago. Is there a date yet for this year's SSR?
  6. Yes, to what docc says ^^^ It be a small outward pressure coil that breaks without warning and you're stuck in 'whatever' gear.

    I've sung it's praises before. Get a piece of sheep skin with the heavy wool on. I use it for all lengthy rides. Vents, sheds water. Some think it's ugly.

  9. I thought that's what we are here for! The new owner will learn a lot here. Even to clean up for a living room, that bike will need some attention. Hopefully, he/she will be a rider, find V11 LM.com, and become a "valued member of the team" (that be a joke around my work) "found" at Sonny Angel Cycle shop mad me think 'Sonny Barger - Hells Angel' affiliation ... nope, it's this interesting guy- cool story. http://www.guzzitech.com/forums/threads/sonny-angel-moto-guzzi-calls-it-quits-hes-earned-it.8251/ Anyone have an experience with this shop/guy? Not that Mr Barger is uninteresting. His book is a cool read, even with the omission of all the crap he obviously can't say. anyway... good luck to the new owner. 8k is not a horrible price for a 'new' bike. The Tenni listed for 13990. as I recall, I paid 11,875. after it sat for almost a year at Harpers.

  11. Thanks lowryter. I got a slew of Pyro Dans' GEI's as well. Had 1 #5 fail after one season. Can't say for sure what's behind relay fails. Bad relay or problematic conditions? Chuck. Nope, it's an early 2000. could be a 99 build, not sure. The vin falls into the early pre "canted" trees (per info on this forum) http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=18331 Docc providing some good "early bike" info. The bike in question has a front axle nut, putting it into the early bike category, per Greg Feld. I haven't seen under the seat, but he says he only has 3. It's a bike I was looking to buy and that was unexpected.

  14. Never hurts to go through all fuel related components when they've been sitting. 9.5k (US$?) I think the one I know of here in Indy could maybe be had for that, with some schmoozing (beers)
  15. Do all our bikes have 5 relays? 99-04 Sport/LM Speaking with an owner of an early (112636) Sport, he said early bikes have 3. I can't find anything showing 3 in searching.
  16. The dimension I posted is the width across the bags, mounted. Yeah, they might squish a bit, but shipping companies will probably take a maximum dimension. My mounts (without bags) are ~18", Mistral canisters ~23", bar-end weights ~29" Ahh yes, the width of the "other stuff" ... I forgot that. I meant to say to remove the bags only and box 'em up and mail 'em, leave the mounts on the bike, but no matter. Not that much wider with the bags on. Last bike I shipped, the truck/trailer opened up and it was FULL of huge Harley's. Little Goose with Teknos isn't near that in width.
  17. Docc, wouldn't the bags squish down and pack for shipment easily? The mount brackets on the bike shouldn't be too wide
  18. Welcome Robbbb. Congratulations on the new Tenni! Beautiful bike. If you aren't already aware, you'll want to catch up on a couple things to look out for. The aluminum flywheel in the Tenni, Rosso Mandello, and Scura, MAY be a problem. The shift lever arm spring will most likely break at some point. Get a set of new relays. Search for those items on the forum to read up. There is plenty of info. welcome!
  19. How do I check it? Just feel for leaks? Re-tighten it after it has been hot once? Change the gaskets preventively? The exhausts have been off about 6 or 7 times... Thanks! The Candy Red is why I fell in love with this bike:) I use a short length of garden hose. One end to my ear and the other used to probe for leaks. When you get near the leak you'll hear a distinctive tapping, it'll be obvious. You can do the same thing with a screwdriver to check location of internal rattles. Put the handle end to your ear and touch the other end to the "area" of concern. The noise will amplify.

  21. Seems like you guys in the "sunny" states would figure out to not wear black when it gets hot. (see once black car in rear) My short trips and day rides - cold days - black Vanson, - hot days - grey full perf Vanson. ALL touring gets my two piece Aerostich. It is perfect. Shorts and a dry-fit tee under it with a fleece in the bag. Open the vents and keep moving and it's comfortable. On the cold and wet side, there's no comparison to the 'Stich.
