  1. those look great! as does the whole Nero "Sport"
  2. The Griso and V11 Sport are close to the same weight, depending on the year and model, within a dozen lbs.. Seat height is the same. Griso wheelbase is 3" longer with the rake kicked out 1-2 deg. Not sure about the height of the motor in the frame. Possibly that's what makes it feel bigger. I haven't ridden one.
  3. From reading your account, I'd say you and 122 are a good match. She'll slap your face once in awhile, but will always make you happy to take her back. I bought mine twice. Once new, and then again from the guy I sold her to. Your impressions of the LM handling 'early on' are very close to mine. I re-live that for a short time every new riding season. She has to remind me "this isn't going to be like anything else" after every winter lay-up. I didn't follow MotoGP much till they came to Indy in '08. I went to all 8, till some folks decided the Indy Motor Speedway maybe wasn't big enough. I became a Nicky fan in that inaugural monsoon and yes, I too have a Nicky story. Insignificant, but still a cool memory. Thanks for sharing the trip.
  4. great write-up, pics, trip, and bike. "got the world on a string.. sittin on a rainbow....."
  5. not sure where I got it. probably auto parts store. https://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/lincoln-lubrication-grease-needle-nozzle-lin5803/25981164-p?c3ch=PLA&c3nid=25981164-P&c3apidt=22084223026&gclid=Cj0KCQjwktHLBRDsARIsAFBSb6yUgy93jJKS0kISKr99Kh0s9ixQTL8d1orABCYrKyI9I9jT8mmvAaYaAnOuEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds
  6. So getting them at a true 45 angle will work. That's good to know. Who is your supplier, and what gauge steel did you get. Mine (which sent the 48's) is Columbia River Mandrel Bends. They had no compassion or interest in correcting the problem. I did get the 54mm od and with some finesse, indeed do fit over the crossover pipe. My Leo Vince inlet is just under 54mm so that is going to take a small amount of work as well. Here is the Leo's I got. I think they were $175. ea. and for a ZX10 Kaw. Discontinued style no doubt.
  7. I've had luck with the rear wheel suspended and a needle. ... and my tongue twisted just right
  8. mmmm.. #122 in such close proximity to #121... where in Illinois are you?
  9. If you don't have a coupon code you can ignore that part, but if you're having issues feel free to email me (support@imgzeit.com) and I'll help you out. Welcome v7cafe. thanks for the help.
  10. I'm just playing with Imgzeit. Seemed like a good place to start. You'll have to imagine a Guzzi, tho some will appreciate a Husky
  11. the silver sport has a black motor. that's interesting. nice bike day out. wish we had a Guzzi dealer. thanks for the report
  12. Make sure your mandrel bend supplier makes them @ 45 deg. I got a pair for the same project and they were 48 deg. They told me +/- 3 deg was industry standard. Ha .. not my standard. I also got them in 16g and think 18g would be better. My project is on hold but I'm going to cut them at the bend and weld. Winter project. I got a pair of titanium Leo's cheap. They're for a 750 ninja. Single side, but they're reversible, so can be used either side. I'm glad someone else is giving this a shot. When I get back home I'll measure them and get the name of the supplier I used so you can specify OR avoid them. I'll be curious to know how your (actual) 45's work out.
  13. Looks Great! But anything that looks like that - that close to my nads, makes me somewhat nervous I would recommend a bum stop pad. Maybe something complementary to the seat. Help keep it from becoming an egg slicer. Looks Great tho!
  14. RAM sintered clutch plate From MGCycle ..... "New generation sintered clutch plate for RAM low inertia clutch. Stainless steel and advanced MIBA sintered friction material for superior friction and wear properties. ~6.68mm thick. These plates are a little bit thicker than previous versions and depending on the version of RAM clutch you have, may require a slightly longer clutch push rod. Also note that some early clutches prior to 2015 may require modification in order to use the MIBA plate." http://www.miba.com/Friction_Materials,4,en.html I measured my RAM clutch plate by measuring the gap between flywheel and plate. = 6.68 but it looks like a sandwich of a thin metal and two- 2 +/- mm contact patches. Hopefully that measurement reflects I have the latest version MIBA The previous version was 6mm thick. I'm just browsing here, but figured I'd list for other's interest. RE: RAM These posts all seem to be pre-new generation. (MIBA) and at least one thread is for older Guzzis. http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=4301 http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=19010 http://www.guzzitech.com/forums/threads/ram-clutch-failure-on-77-lemans.7151/ http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=14469
  15. I don't know how tooled up you are, but if you need some machining done, bring it over. Having a coil spring conversion on the site would benefit us all. A good friend has helped me with mock-up parts from his pile of stuff. I'm going off the photos I have of the "Japanese kit". My goal is sourcing readily available quality parts and make sure it all fits and shifts correctly. I have some stuff coming from McMaster Carr to test out. I have some time 'cause the bike is down. No pics 'cause my img host is not ready. I think I have enough toolage, (hammers for sure) but will certainly accept machining help when needed. Thank you
  16. welcome Troutman. lovely motorcycle.. Keep us posted on your new adventure. (country pub lot photos) Steve S... I'm currently working on a coil spring mod myself. Do you have a link or maybe some input to the task? It seems fairly straightforward but one never knows, maybe a better idea out there?
  17. Soooo, That seller only has one feedback because here in the NL, there is not much use of Ebay. I know the guys is reliable and a real enthousiast. Why? Because that's me No offense intended there Tinus. Just an observation. Everyone starts with 1 eh? Docc... I can now recommend this seller.
  18. "craigsinclair" that is the post I've been looking for. Just to clarify, my reference to drill bits was meant for measuring the hole only.
  19. the 6spd rod is 8mm. I have a spare 5spd clutch with "button" but no rod. The hole mics at 6.5mm but I used drill bits to find one that fits best. Of course I'm missing the perfect size but I'd guess 6.4-6.6 would work well. In my drill index I have a 6.39 (fits) and a 6.52 (won't fit)
  20. I've posted this before. It's been on epay over a year. He only has 1 feedback, so who knows? It's the correct one. http://www.ebay.ie/itm/NEW-Moto-Guzzi-V11-Sport-Clutch-Gear-for-single-plate-clutch-GU01211640-/272216373516 There weren't washers on my oem flywheel bolts, and the RAM kit didn't include any. Nothing on the instructions either.
  21. These 2 on ebay are guzzitech as a seller. they look like they are the same unit to me, but are listed separately. Either a mistake or he has 2 http://www.ebay.com/itm/moto-guzzi-sport-1100-V11-sport-flywheel-clutch-assembly/272724139451?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649 http://www.ebay.com/itm/moto-guzzi-sport-1100-V11-sport-flywheel-clutch-assembly/322561966899?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649
