  1. How do I check it? Just feel for leaks? Re-tighten it after it has been hot once? Change the gaskets preventively? The exhausts have been off about 6 or 7 times... Thanks! The Candy Red is why I fell in love with this bike:) I use a short length of garden hose. One end to my ear and the other used to probe for leaks. When you get near the leak you'll hear a distinctive tapping, it'll be obvious. You can do the same thing with a screwdriver to check location of internal rattles. Put the handle end to your ear and touch the other end to the "area" of concern. The noise will amplify.
  2. yeah, the 'Stich is ugly. I look like a blue fire brigade.
  3. Seems like you guys in the "sunny" states would figure out to not wear black when it gets hot. (see once black car in rear) My short trips and day rides - cold days - black Vanson, - hot days - grey full perf Vanson. ALL touring gets my two piece Aerostich. It is perfect. Shorts and a dry-fit tee under it with a fleece in the bag. Open the vents and keep moving and it's comfortable. On the cold and wet side, there's no comparison to the 'Stich.
  4. I have a couple more photos. I emailed Cow Space again... won't go through. We'll have to build it ourselves.

    Hot hot hot

Not been on a bike, but I've walked London a few times in the summer. The congestion is daunting, though they do have some special ways of dealing. The motorbike messengers are plentiful and treacherous!
  6. says posted about a month ago. I use Search Tempest quite often and that Scura has never turned up. Does anyone have a favorite way to search the nation for V11's? Other than CL I check Cycle Trader and MGNOC. Good find nobleswood. Close by, Mr Scud
  7. What a sinking feeling Scud. I know it. You're supposed to carry the spare so you won't need it. That's where mine broke and I had the 16mm boss. While mine is apart I'd love to figure out that coil spring mod while doing the rest of the shifty shifter upgrades.
  8. It's a beauty Panda. Always one of my favorites. The only one I know about around my town went for about 9-10k in cash and trade about 6 years ago. A '91, fair unrestored condition. Green trim. I wouldn't know what a fair price would be for it now.
  9. First try adjusting the seat latch. It's hard to explain but you'll figure it out when you dig into it. The seat can be made to "snug down" tighter into it's place with some fiddling.
  10. how about a small piece of reflective hvac duct tape. it looks chrome and has a very sticky side.
  11. Short term plans are to paint it 'Guards Red' (Porsche color) which is a bit 'redder' than the Corsa red, according to my paint guru. I bought an ebay V11 tank that was all scratched-up... already stripped it and primed it... ready for paint. (gold-black emblems) I will keep the OEM 'grape Jelly-Belly' tank unless someone here wants it or put it up on ebay. After removing and painting the remaining bodywork it will look something like this, in this somewhat-poorly photo-edited image: (please visually-omit the plastic swingarm cover and heel guard over rear master cylinder) BLIGHT Hmm... all that darkening reminds me of something. How about some black passenger pegs, foot levers, alternator cover, fluid reservoirs... welcome to the dark and slippery slope. Hmmmm.... "Black Chrome" mufflers??
  12. that bright red is awesome Italiano. The orig "grape" does not look the best with the 2 tone, but on it's own... the entire bike... that color is gorgeous imo. The cans are nice but I'd do reverse cones instead of the slash cuts. But.. it's not my bleeding bike, is it? Great job btw. Enthusiasm is fun! I'm with Chuck... "bolt on" is good!
  13. A hose rotting from sitting too long in old gas? hmmm... dunno about that one. How long did she sit? Sad to see you're letting her go. I hope it isn't because of this little problem. Just like a 'delicate' lady, it takes some passion to get past the quirks, and the reward is so worth it. there's a guy in socal that takes in wayward Geese.

Is that leather? and I LOVE that Italian flag
  16. I kind of agree on the gaudy thing. Hoping it looks good on the bike. Too me though the brown (couple with the gold, red, white, and green of the Coppa) looks a bit gaudy which is why I am swapping. I would paint them but I want to be able to keep the original look just in case. Those look really good on LuckyPhil's bike
  17. In the V. This was the first year, and vapor lock was rampant with them. like Chuck said.... in the v, where it's hot
  18. I like it. I'm a little surprised. It works just like that. Yes, nice job SDave.
  19. +1 on everything already suggested. welcome to the best Guzzi forum
  20. I'm with you polebridge. I want to keep my originals for some reason, but want to run another color. It's good to know I can expand my search. Maybe even find a deal. You going to remove paint and polish the aluminum?
  21. Do you mean this?: http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=18532&p=209449 Yup, that's it. thank you I shouda acted quicker on that extra one you offered up
