  1. Admittedly over my pay grade;I don't know my way around the innards of these guzzis that well. At some point in the near future; I have to pull the Tonti 5 speed tranny on my CX100,to address an u/k scarf issue and am planning to upgrade the output/input? from 2 to 4 mm splines? & do the clutch at the same time. Is your part that you've kindly offered, involved in that whole job or it it something that would be useful to help line the whole works up on installing a new clutch? If so,I'd gratefully pay for shipping to Canuckistan. Plmk tks very much
  2. Hey Docc, Iirc,I'm sure I've read of guys while the TPS is still mounted on the bike;drilling tiny holes in strategic spots in the case, spraying DeOxit inside, moving the TPS back&forth a few times to clean the contact surfaces, then sealing it up again with RTV/JBWeld etc and bringing bad TPSs back to life. Fwiw Idk
  3. Hey Revilo; That's sad to hear about your bike;from 10 ft away it still looks pretty good, but that's a daunting shopping list you have. I've read a few times that the spine frames don't crash well. You have no way of knowing what type of Evil Knievel stunts the thieves attempted while they had your bike for their joy ride. For peace of mind and confidence, before you get too deep into it it would be nice to set it on a stand/jack of some sort so you could verify it's till plumb & square & take a real hard look for damage in known stressor areas,ie tranny bolt/brace,SS bracket bolt to engine, steering head, shock mount, torque arm etc. When you mentioned needing a fuel filler cap, check to make sure it was wasn't pried off so roughly that a simple new cap won;t fit/work properly;same thing if your seat was pried off. Finding parts on your own continent would simplify things. I think there are a few known guzzi breakers/used parts dealers in Europe,a quick search on your local EBAY might show someone breaking a bike for parts. . TLM would be worth a call,a search on their site for used V11 parts, shows they have lots, might be cheaper,idk.https://tlm.nl/search-results-page?q=v11&page=1&rb_product_condition=Used Good luck
  4. Just to add to Marty's post; There are a few spots along the cable path from the throttle grip, locating bracket,LH TB,rod,RH TB,it's worthwhile to make sure everything is working smoothly and won't get hung up,especially the cable bracket & white adjustment knob, btdt. As Docc says, a little feathering is required and time well spent.
  5. I can't load that photo and see what it looks like, but I did see the price. YIKES! As a result of research on this forum, I just recently picked up a small, sleek, 12 L Cor-Tech tank bag at less than 1/4 the cost for my V11.
  6. I agree with Marty. The red on the RM is the sexiest red paint,I've ever seen on anything. That RM is extremely well kitted;the retail price of the extras alone, in total;probably add up to the asking price.
  7. Wow! Very lucky! Looks like the Mandello is stable at high speeds, lol Kissing the pavement & buying a few lottery tickets might be in order Beautiful country you're riding in I don't have to dodge ice blocks here, deer & wild turkeys are my biggest dangers.
  8. While trying to find durable heat resistant O rings to seal up the ridiculous "designed on Friday after mucho vino lunch" cross over pipes on one of my Lafranconi exhaust systems; I got schooled on the crazy world of high tech/high cost O rings, which apparently went totally ape shit crazy, after the apparent O ring failure on the space shuttle Challenger? The lady in charge of parts acquisition at my local Freco Hydraulic shop was extremely knowledgeable & helpful. She had at her disposal every O ring configuration known to man. If you haven't done so yet, your local Hydraulic Servicing business might be worth checking out as a possible supply source. fwiw idk
  9. I've never seen one in person either, but after reading about them,I'd love to try one, just to sample the power band. Greg Field's book, Moto Guzzi Big Twins, doesn't have the production totals but he has comments from Dr John Wittner; he was a major part of the original Quota 1000 in 1989ish. Roughly 10 yrs later, late 90's,Dr John was apparently the one that pushed for a variant of our 1064 cc ECU/EFI to create the ultimate guzzi dirt bike Quota 1100ES. The 1064 engine was designed & tuned to be the ultimate in tractable torquey power. 90 percent of peak torque was available from 2800-5800 rpm;the magic apparently came from medium size valves,a single central throttle body EFI with smooth long intake runners & a header crossover. I think the Quotas have a good rep, but iirc some of them have problems with some type of cracking exhaust/header/connector issues. fwiw
  10. Man that's a beautiful bike with the full Lemans fairing & Ohlins
  11. There's so many variations of front ends,Ohlins etc possibly some of them did change up.
  12. I don't know about the later bikes;but my 2003 Lemans, possibly my 2007 Griso?, & the black calipers on my 2008 CalVin all look like a match with that photo. fwiw
  13. Hey Docc, All of the ones I've got are dark blue, I'm sure they're on the gentle side, but they don't show up on the usual sites,so I can't verify exactly what they are. I'll take a look at what they say about that part # on the OPP site.
  14. I only use organic on my old cast iron rotors and and I'm sensitive to what I use on my stainless steel rotor bikes. I thought I just put on a pair of EBC sinterred organics or a light sinter, but I can't verify that with an old package;everything I've got on hand is Brembo Best Originals sinterred organics? idk You might be onto something with a supply issue developing, I just ran all the Brembo pad part #'s I have in my spares stash through both MG Cycle & Brembo's site, none of them showed up, wtf! I've got spares with that Brembo # 107670810 that match the info Speedfrog dug up above. If they're in stock some place, might be wise to pick em up.
  15. Wow! Congratulations, what a beauty. That's the first time I've ever noticed, how the exhaust headers flow down and back in towards the bottom of the frame, very nice lines. Once you get some miles in the saddle I'm very interested to hear your impressions compared to your V11.
  16. Those little Italian roadsters have such beautiful flowing lines;much more graceful, than the industrial beaky looking crap they're pushing out now, jmho. I had a 1969-70? Italian matching twin for the small trail bikes that was rebadged and sold by Bombardier in Canada. I "think" the company that made my 70-90? cc Bombardier trail bike was something like "Agratti Garelli" ? idk; looked just like that Caballerro.
  17. If it doesn't have hidden corrosion issues, & the digital dash functions well,I think that's a bargain. Nice lowering pegs,CARC & front guards, obviously the owner took care to try to protect it. Not familiar with that Leo Vince exhaust system, but it looks well made. Almost a twin for my Griso, but mine has 5 times the mileage.
  18. I've read about different types of dual compound tire design, almost looks like there's been a separation failure. What I find puzzling is that the failure isn't symmetrical and even, the bottom picture looks like the failure is running right into the bead area. wtf idk tks for the warning & heads up
  19. My Odysseys have always served me well; I have had other batteries expand & crack from freezing solid in frigid cold;I don't think that's a probability in your climate. If you've had 2 batteries of the same design go bad, I'd look hard at the common element, your smart charger. I use a CTek charger on the appropriate setting for my AGM batteries and it has been rock solid on almost continuous rotation duty. But recently, I've read of a few guzzi owners who have had malfunctioning smart chargers destroy batteries, a few horror stories of batteries blowing up or very close to it. fwiw idk
  20. You sound very comfortable with guzzidiag, I'm definitely not there yet. You mention a few variables, but you don't mention getting the engine up to operating temp to enable the CO trim to be changed. Iirc the engine had to be at least 60 ? degrees to unlock the CO trim. If that's old news to you and what you were doing, disregard. When I tried to adjust my CO trim, I was locked out completely from the ECU until I lowered my side stand, which still doesn't make sense to me;but I learned that with guzzidiag, I have to keep an open mind willing to try any & everything to get it to connect & work. fwiw
  21. My first gen Suzuki DL1000 VStrom lightened my wallet with a few adventures, one of them was trying to obtain 3 keys for the top & side cases. The oem luggage bags were made by Kappa; a huge manufacturer,as is Suzuki, should've been easy to buy 3 new cylinders/keys,it wasn't. Iirc I dropped the luggage off at a local locksmith, he took the locks apart & re-pinned? the cylinders with new keys,it wasn't cheap I'd shop around for a local locksmith, who hopefully is a bike freak or rider,,,after all,you do have 6 to do,
  22. I'd read about the HDM Hot Dog Mustard color scheme but had never seen one;If you love it do NOT look at the sidecar rig on this link I love the blue on your EV,I agree the lines of the seat don't work, but what a super comfy looking lounge seat. If you're looking for any stock EV replacement parts, Mark at Moto Guzzi Classics in California(Contact info in link below) is stripping lots of those bikes and making beautiful retro standards out of them;so he has a ton of EV take off parts cheap, fyi. There is a sweet, very well done, EV Side Car rig on this link in that HDM color scheme,if it was in Canadian funds, close by,it would already be in my garage just on principle http://www.motoguzziclassics.com/MGCClassic2bikes.asp seat
  23. Docc, I've read you rave about this stuff before, I'm not familiar with it at all. Any experience with it on a more porous surface? ie like the Cordura? material on soft bags like my Nelson-Riggs or Cor-Tek saddle & tank bags?
  24. I stopped wearing a watch decades ago,but I've got an older, cheap silver pocket watch I like to have with me if I need to keep track of time;I'll probably mcgyver a way to fasten it to my tank bags. Bill & Dan, I'm just thinking out loud; re both of you having those fine guzzi time pieces in need of repair. Iirc Scout63? over on WG is apparently Swiss & I "think" his area of expertise is watch & clock repair. He might be able to help yous or at least point you in the right direction. fwiw fyi
  25. Hey, @Scud, I'm getting ready to order parts so I can do this remote clutch bleed installation some time; Can you please confirm the banjo bolt & washers for the Brembo Brake Calipers that you used. I checked on Harper's site https://www.harpermoto.com/parts-lookup/2000-2009-moto-guzzis/v-11-cat.-1100-2003-2004/front-brake-system/ They list the following for the front calipers 19 AP8113003 Oil pipe screw * 20 AP8113004 Washer 10x14x1,6* (x 2 required) Am I correct that I've Id'd the correct banjo bolt and washers to attach the "Float Chamber Clutch Pipe" part # 05606630 replacing my existing bleeder screw? They also list a different part # and slightly different description for the rear brake banjo bolt/gaskets,fwiw. Tia ps Docc if it makes for tidier info management and you want to somehow link this to Scud's compatible parts post, please do so. tks
