  1. This is one of those things that seems too simple to matter. Trust me, how you seal your vacuum taps (and maintain them) matters.
  2. Right? Very original early RedFrame Sport. Looks very nice!
  3. Swapped my intake vacuum-tap caps from "rubber" to silicone. I've had the rubber ones dry out, get loose and give running issue fits. I figured them for 5mm ID, but the caps came 5mm OD. Cut to length, and a little P-80 Emulsion "Temporary Rubber Assembly Lubricant," and they feel snug. Guess I should watch they don't squirt themselves off into a parallel universe. Hoping that the silicone caps stand up better (indefinitely?) to the heat cycling . . . (Take-offs into the Monkey Paw Spares Bag).
  4. Hey, there are still four months. And untold determination! "Maybe new rings. Also mufflers. A little wiring . . ."
  5. Sheesh, four months out and I am making no significant progress toward my "200.000 km" Centenary goal. Chipping away, though. I have a fresh rear tire in the wings, probably should get a front and go back into the shifter plate mechanism one more time. Maybe plugs, a valve adjustment, throttle body balance, you know: A Decent Tune-up/ guzzidiag . . . a compression test . . . check all those wheel bearings, the driveshaft U-joints, condition that battery . . . "Only forty-eight hundred" . . . "Maybe new rings. Also mufflers. A little wiring . . ."

    V11 Fuel pump

There is a place for your V11 at the South'n SpineRaid. We'll open a full garage space for your rig. And supply the ice . . .

  8. Sooooo - pretty sure the plates should be open enough to idle (not locked completely shut). The white knob is not the idle adjustment (it is the balancing adjustment between the throttle bodies). In your second image, above, (the one turned on its side), the glob of yellow paint fills the hex that is the right side idle stop screw. Looks like it could use some attention (like it's never been adjusted . . .) You, Sir, need a "Decent Tune-up" . . .

Side hack racers are pretty much all nutters, yah?

    V11 Fuel pump

We'll have to draw the line at turning a Rosso Mandello to sidehack duty . . .
  11. I recall removing my throttle body assembly on the RedFrame Sport required the frame to be "crabbed." This Guzzimax puzzle is a head-scratcher!

    Checklist?

I figured our prolific contributors would have collectively compiled a list by now . . .
  13. Possibly a sensor unplugged ? (Not sure which, if any, would trigger uncontrolled rpm . . .)
  14. Have you done the test for an air leak between the throttle bodies and head?
  15. Looks like your seat pan is sitting a bit hard on your battery, @Guzzimax. I had to round a sharp corner on mine to save the battery strap. Also, the front of the battery basket can be mounted under the subframe to make clearance.

    V11 Fuel pump

    Hey, it's your V11!
  17. It's identical to the "Spark 500" the V11 were delivered with. It lies on its side with the terminals facing rearward.
  18. +1 on the OEM Odyssey PC545 I see one on Amazon for $109.11US. Not sure about getting it in Canada: https://www.amazon.com/ODYSSEY-PC545-Odyssey-Powersports-Battery/dp/B0002ILK7M/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&gclid=CjwKCAjw7diEBhB-EiwAskVi1-OHutvNVLeRry0davXToHaWyC76CJfLyyrzhvpVbsnV4-GibpEZvBoCj0IQAvD_BwE&hvadid=241927915186&hvdev=c&hvlocphy=9013636&hvnetw=g&hvqmt=e&hvrand=15715486849163685937&hvtargid=kwd-1636831125&hydadcr=24662_10400876&keywords=odyssey+pc545&qid=1620488270&sr=8-2

    Checklist?

Actual service records and receipts for parts go a long toward seeing how the bike has been cared for and what will be needing attention soon.
  20. for just me, I soooooo appreciate all the musical input from you all. All of the variety. What an amazement! Music is the most complex and challenging world I've ever tried to comprehend and engage with. On par with the complexity of neuroanatomy and pathophysiology. But waaaaaay more fun!
  21. How would that compare to a current Moto Guzzi V7 ?
  22. That looks really relaxing and enjoyable!
  23. If you look at these beautiful V11 Frame Side Plates, and see "porkchops", order baked beans on the side. Then burp (and *such*) They look decidedly more elegant, and Italian, to my eyes . . . . > stilettos <
