  1. every V11 is a limited edition collectable. Some just more so.
  2. ...looks like a nice bike to me. I don't think nice Spineys are getting any cheaper. I don't see the point of criticizing our own family of bikes. I think this one might need a bellhousing support? Condition means a lot. If you want it, where ya gonna find another?
  3. Dropping the pan on these Guzzis gets old after a while.
  4. @docc Little Feat was all time fav band. I got to see them just after Columbus came out. I was familiar with most of the songs until I heard "A Day at the Dog Races". Saw a couple of later iterations, post Lowell. One memorable time at Forest Park in St Louis opening for the Allman's. The last time at Daytona Bike Week. Comparing FZ with LF sorta apples and oranges. I suppose I wasn't expecting FZ with such a tight band with so many breaks and changes with pro session guys, particularly given the previous Flo-Eddie era. I didn't know that Frank had such a jazz background and was orchestral composer. But I was expecting something similar to Apostrophe, I just didn't expect it to be so polished and tight. My fav live bands today at Tedeschi Trucks and hope to see the last Dead & Co. Both bands are masters of improvisation and great chops. TTB also like to bring in some of the members of the opening bands with them, like Los Lobos.
  5. @ScuRoo I'm not that motivated but thanks and for the record, I saw Zappa too. After Apostrophe came out. One of the best bands I had ever seen. I think Sly Dunbar and Geo Duke were part of it.
  6. so far as sayin' who saw who... Yea, I saw Clarke's group, the opening act was the Dixie Dregs. This was at Trinity U in San Antonio in the early '80's. Also, to make me sound like a dweeb, Stanley said it was the first time they'd ever performed together. I had recordings of both artists. Had a great time. And all I remember is they blew me away.
  7. @p6x I have to agree. I took off a rear tire that was about have done off my Sport in anticipation of a trip. After the replacement wore out, I reused the take off. Man, that tire was awful. Despite storing it on my garage for a couple of years, it was really bad. I lost $ more in the mount and balance than I ever saved. But it was actually worse than the tire I took off.
  8. I saw him cut 4 laps on that bike at the Indy Mile during MotoGP weekend. He rode it hard and was power sliding it, he looked as fast at the racers. Anyway, the crowd went wild, and the announcers were giving him praises and Yamaha did some commemorations, all the while Kenny never says a word. Finally they ask Valentino Rossi if he'd like to try it....in his accent "Noooo, it loooks a lidddle toooo dangerous." Kenny answers with his first words of the night, "He's smarter than he looks."
  9. @Joe Sorry, I am guilty of thread theft. Wasn't my intention but guilty.
  10. If I wanted a dual-sport or Adv bike, I'd rather it look like this than something with beak on it.
  11. Plans change or go one hold. Due to tornado damage my sister has cancelled the shrimp boil. I'm thinking about taking the trailer up to CV on Thursday and attending. Sorry about the drama
  12. The F9 kid loves the X. Any of our European folks know about this one? it's powered by the Yamaha 700 twin
  13. I hate that damn thing.
  14. I saw Deep Purple with a couple weeks to go in my senior year of high school in '72. Machine Head had just come out. We had a caravan of about 6 of us. They were the loudest band in history according to Guiness and of course, we right in front of the PA. They played most of the record that we'd been groovin' and the two previous records. Blackmore, Gilian, Lord, Paice The opening band was Long John Baldry, subbing for Edgar Winter White Trash- rumor was they were "jumped". "Don't talk about Boodgie Woodgie to the King of Rock and Roll". Next band was Nazareth, "Love Hurts" was on the charts. Perry cool show. No seats by the way. I couldn't do that today -hurtin' from just workin' the garden.
  15. Gallows Pole showed that folk based "acoustic" music could combine with heavy metal. The bass, vocals and drums are blazing, along with acoustic guitars and banjos. Saw Zep play it in '70 before the record was out.... IIRC saw Plant & Page play it twice. I think it's a brilliant "meld" and forerunner to "roots" and "alternative". Now we have "heavy" Bluegrass. This is fav from Zep 3 with the Page & Plant show. I really love the rhythm of the instrumental ending ... I might suggest the Alison Krauss - Plant stuff too.
  16. How about 1:00 at Click's steakhouse in Pawnee? They have everything from burgers to steaks. We might get the word out to any folks with an interest. Pawnee Bill's state park is pretty neat with it's view. SInce you're doing the rally, you might try the Mexican food at the Ponca City Airport while you're there.
  17. I just saw your post. I've been in touch with Prescott, so perhaps they'll be three. Both days good for you? I see you've loaded up on more motorcycles.
  18. $7600? Well it's Green, so that's about right.
