Too bad there were few morning shots when were pushing it rather than cruising home in the afternoon.
  2. I just got back home. About 2500 miles. I like the Sport but wouldn't call it a touring bike. My legs got a little cramped. Mileage ranged from 32 to 40. Mostly 34. Docc, thanks for putting me up and putting up with me. Spent an extra day in Nashville. Thanks Rick for the guide work getting me there. Bill, sorry about your accident, hope to see you soon. You were there in spirit. Your fellow countryman, "The Chancellor" was a real hoot. Thanks all for the good company, the great rides and the good food. That was quite a roller coaster to Franklin. I'd say that we had well skilled riders, no crashes. Unfortunately, I did get a ticket. Hope to be back again. Did anyone find us on Killboy?
  3. Just remembered. Guzzi dealer in Tulsa. Was able to get a spare gasket. Having breakfast. Heading east
  4. Bill, metcha at Elkador National. You and your better half were on a Red Norge. My wife and I were on the Red & White EV. I think it was at Pike's Peak Park. Looks like I'll be sharing a room on Saturday with Rick. But it's OK if you wanna share your Jacuzzi. I am taking some backroads through the Ozarks. I just retired and haven't ridden the Dragon in a few years and never before on the Greenie. Bring your spare valve cover gaskets and hide your scotch. . I have room to pack a few cigars. 5. good to go, good buddy. I'll be on my way tomorrow btw- if anyone has some extra valve cover gaskets, it would be great if you'd being them. For some reason my left side gasket was leaking last week, and the right one today. As a result, I've used both my spares, the last one I was going to take with me. Don't know why this is happening.
  6. the weather looks better but the lodge is full. they tell me the nearest motel is 17 miles away. perhaps next year I'll get organized and make it.
  7. looks like the weather forecast is improving. wonder if there are any room left? thanks for calling last night. dithering
  8. is possible to intall the complete upgrade to Ohlins parts with radial brakes? That might be the only replacements available from the OEM. If so, that's what I would hold the shipper for replacement costs. hopefully there was insurance quite suspicious that a package that large would be lost.
  9. I was interested to go. I checked. The lodge was booked on Saturday night. No rooms available. I didn't quite understand the double occupancy part. Maybe next year, It's about 1000 mile ride.

  11. Andy, it looks like the service window was cut on the wrong side of the guard. It appears you've cut the guard all the way through on the aft end and made a completely new hole.
  12. that's the way mine looks too. So I can see some allen bolts fastening the U Joint. Does the hole needs to be enlarged a good inch or so to get to the zerk?
  13. I haven't greased the U joints on my 2001 Greenie. Are you saying the window is too small to get to the grease fitting? If so can't I expand it will a grinding drill bit or Dremil tool without removing it? the owner's manual illustration is useless.
  14. you probably have a pinched gasket which is pretty common. take off the cover and see where it's kinked. you might (probably) need a new gasket.
  15. If the bike is creeping while it's in gear, the clutch isn't fully disengaging. I had a similar experience with my Suzuki which also has a hydraulic actuated clutch. The rubber hose expands over time. You might add some hydraulic fluid and see it it takes up the slack. Worked for me. I later had the system flushed and went about my business.
  16. wait? there is a Spine Frame Rally in the Fall at Telico Planes TN? When?
  17. free and cold are my two favorites
  18. 3.0L without filter change?
  19. I was able to research this on this forum by search function and the smaller (middle bolt) is recommended. BTW- I don't have a socket to fit the big plug and the crescent wrench won't fit. here's the link http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=11803&hl=%2Boil+%2Bdrain+%2Bbolt
  20. he needs to ride it to the National at Lavigne.
  21. I bought the big socket and set the valves at .006 and .004 INCHES like I do on the EV. I set them tight but it still clatters more than it did before I set them. just put 20k miles on it. I love riding it. also used the big ass socket on the EV when I set the valves on that on. better than spinning that rear wheel and looking at the slot machine (make me dizzy)
  22. my speedo jumps all over the place and won't settle to zero when I am stopped until I shake it by revving the motor. I've lubed the cable and taken the cable off from both ends. yes, the pointer is faded too. Palo Alto?
  23. that's for both instruments? not bad
  24. Who & where?
