  1. looks like it's a total cluster now. ..U joint is worn out... apparently needs a new shaft u-joint assembly... u joint not separate? No parts at Harpers. ugly
  2. we'll see if this works out.
  3. I am getting my green 01 Sport serviced for a new rear tire. I asked the mechanic to enlarge the porthole to service the front U Joint. When examining it, the zerk is pointed to the rear of the bike rather than pointed to the front. So regardless of cutting a new porthole, there is no way to access the zerk without disassembling the swing arm. He recommends that he disassemble it and the reinstall by reversing the U Joint so the zerk points to the front. Any suggestions or warnings greatly appreciated.
  4. I plan to be there. Perhaps I'll trailer it.
  5. This guy has ridden the bike for 600 miles over ten years and thinks he'll ride more on a Harley?
  6. really? you have to ask? http://www.youtube.com/watch?annotation_id=annotation_2049801961&feature=iv&src_vid=u6d8eKvegLI&v=MEWYOt3bxNI

  11. go for it. I am leaning towards Camp Carlo, there are still camp spots left.
  12. I wonder if anyone here is going? I am taking my rv and the Greenie. I have reservations at "Camp Carlo" as well as at an RV Park where some of the other Guzzi riders camp. I've got to decide where to stay. drinks, cigars, bikes, and get out of the cold.

  15. my plan was to ride back through the Ozark like I did on the way out but to spend an extra day or two sport riding. But getting that ticket in Harrison Ark on my way to your place made me gun shy. And until I got the ticket settled, I thought that riding with interstate traffic would be the safest way to avoid another ticket. Luckily I was able to keep it off my driving record- they just wanted the money$. I might just trailer or take the RV to the next raid.
  16. I keep mine covered with the tank bag mount. But if you want to get rid of the that carbon fiber pad, give me a call. Looks pretty cool.. BTW- what would happen if you removed the pad? Couldn't you cover the sport with the decal from the later bikes?
  17. It couldn't have been that howlin' burn-up across the Cherohala . . . C'mon Doccc..... I might be a flatlander but I was going quick enough on the Cherohala to work the edge rather than the middle of the tire. I am sure that we were all within the speed limits.
  18. That Pilot Road 3 on the rear of Greenie is down to the wear bars. Maybe 5k miles. Doesn't seem like good mileage to me compared to my other Michelins. The ride on I-40 back from Nashville probably contributed to center channel wear.
  19. actually they do make electronically controlled dampers that do that. You'll have to google it. BTW- I have a red frame, it can be a little twitchy but I never even touched the damper. Anyone know some ballpark settings? Also, my EV has a cheap friction damper. I've taken it apart before and fixed it. I am not sure it adds to stability but it give better "feel" as the fork doesn't feel like it's flopping around in the parking lot.
  20. Ramon, that was part of my question. You replaced the bar end dampener with an insert mount? My concern is the clip-on bar ends are actually dampers of solid stock that run the entire length of the clip on. What did it do with vibration? What is the correct adapter size? (Perhaps the inserts mounts I have would fit.)
  21. sounds like a deal, Chuck. I can almost afford it. Perhaps when you get back home again in Indiana?
  22. considering that Docc
  23. My Sport has a handle bar conversion. I was thinking about putting the clip-ons back on but keeping the bar end mirrors from the handlebars. My concern is the clip-on bar ends are actually dampers of solid stock that run the entire length of the clip on. If you installed bar end mirrors on clip-ons, please advise of how you installed them and how they worked out. I've also considered getting replacement handle bars but these are Pro Taper dirt bike cars that are extra large at the clamp. I can't find Superbike type bars similar the bars on the Coppa to fit.
  24. got this info from Wild Hair regarding powering peg kits. Hello John The price starts at US$170.00 depending on peg style and color. Please check http://www.whaccessories.com/Foot-Peg-Lowering-Kit-KTM-Moto-Guzzi.htm We have to order the Moto Guzzi kits from Germany, shipping is an additional US$20.00, shipping time, depending on US customs is around 4-5 weeks. During Christmas time it might take a little longer. After you installed the peg lowering kit, it is recommended to adjust the brake and shift lever accordingly. If you plan to install the kit straight down, we recommend the 22 or 30 mm kit. The 50 mm kit might work but on most bikes, the adjustment of the levers is limited. Also, the pegs kits are also adjustable, every 45 degree is an adjustment. You can install a 50 mm kit for example, 45 degree to the back, the kit becomes approx. 25 mm lower, 25 mm back. If you have a shoe size around 13, you should be able to reach the brake and shift lever. I have shoes size 9 1/2 and for me, a 50 mm kit, 45 back is not comfortable. The levers are to far away. Thank you for your interest. If you have further questions, please feel free to contact us. Your Wild Hair Team Irfan www.whaccessories.com Phone & Fax 623-581-1994 Mon-Thu 9:30-5:30 PST
