  1. Is that a V85 LeMans? Is that for real? [edit: I can't copy and paste that picture or find it on the web.] It looks like a V7 parts bin combobulation with fairing and paint to me. Could be an 850. I guess retro is a way to make money these days... appeal to a younger bunch, generate some new blood interest. I get it. The company flagship is a cruiser... for Batman. I get that too. And no shade to cast from me. What IS bothersome is the lack of a LeMans. 13 years since? The Griso is the perfect format. That is... without a load of r&d. It so wants to be a LeMans.
  2. 20% less weight. oops, sorry.... more power please
  3. Has the lead rider been there before? That is the scariest part to me... knowing how/when/where/why to ride there.

    very nice! welcome!
  5. Pete, Thanks for opining on these motors. I've fantasized about a Griso for awhile but MUST have the SE (spoked) wheels. I love bottom line explanations. Your coverage of various Guzzi componentry over the years, and on various sites, has earned you my deep respect on whatever the hell it is you're talking about. That said, I for one, don't need a full explanation. I would read it, but much would be wasted on me. One of the great things I've learned in life is, once you fully respect someones opinion, well.... just listen. Sorry to hear about the apprentice. I hope he has a full and fast recovery. Youth has it advantages. Hopefully that will help him through it.
  6. the guy makes excellent points. and true. once your ride priorities are set, the bike "size" is (or should be) obvious. I like his take on "stuff" to pack. "One week, one month...same stuff." "Boris billionaire"
  7. I'm liking this thing too. I just checked with a local dealer (Cincy) and he said I could get on a list, behind 7, with expected arrivals starting (maybe) in Feb. I'll be honest. That level of "excitement" tends to make my interest stumble.. for several reasons. I'll stay positive and see what unfolds.
  8. My friend Bill and I will be rolling in Thursday eve by truck and trailer. We'll bring assorted stuff, tools, firewood, beer, maybe a valve cover gasket... any requests?
  9. welcome k75s! can't wait to see the new v11
  10. it looks alot like "amber whiskey" from 2014 HD Street Glide. Great color
  11. nice machine. but we may need a few more pics of Frau Mooseder. BMW is looking more interesting lately.
  12. So... anyone got one of these laying around they'd sell me, or loan me so I can copy it? $65 is kind of hard to swallow, considering it was 14 from the factory. I'll pay it if I can't find one fairly cheap, but I will copy it and spread the joy.
  13. I agree, the fairing works quite well. notch for bars in a good spot. like it's made for it. I have those weights on the sport clip-ons. nice 'n heavy. I'm surprised if you still don't have considerable vibration with the wider bars mounted solid. How is it?

  15. Dadparent. Our Veglia's are not of high quality construction. Seem's like most fail at some point, in different ways. Usually erratic indicator movement and then just stops function. Many owners upgrade to aftermarket gauges when this happens. Speedhut is a popular well made unit, with much information on this forum. I have not heard of the problem you are having, though someone here may have. You may be the owner that 'gets' to figure it out. Let us know the outcome. If mine started doing something like that, I'd take it apart to see what I could see, and if I could repair it. Then I'd buy the Speedhut set.

  17. Pressureangle set us up with a good Universal Joint Thread. Watch for progress (or not) there: https://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=20425 Ha, I'm even following it! I'm so old :oldgit:thanks for the reminder
  18. best of luck in your search for (the cross) u-joints. might be a good item to have on hand, just in case. hopefully they are as cheap as they should be. if you come up with any specs or numbers, please post. I'll help with the search.
  19. $25 as wall art (with provenance) is exactly what that frame is worth. Keep us updated on the new "red one"
  20. I hope you are doing good hrc. Are you riding yet? I must have missed your crash if previously posted.
  21. the camera mount must be on or just rear of the bars, center, with the lens ghosting it. A remote operator?? It must be very small. Could just imagine the distraction of that spinning around....ridiculous. Bravo!
