  1. Dadparent. Our Veglia's are not of high quality construction. Seem's like most fail at some point, in different ways. Usually erratic indicator movement and then just stops function. Many owners upgrade to aftermarket gauges when this happens. Speedhut is a popular well made unit, with much information on this forum. I have not heard of the problem you are having, though someone here may have. You may be the owner that 'gets' to figure it out. Let us know the outcome. If mine started doing something like that, I'd take it apart to see what I could see, and if I could repair it. Then I'd buy the Speedhut set.

  3. Pressureangle set us up with a good Universal Joint Thread. Watch for progress (or not) there: https://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=20425 Ha, I'm even following it! I'm so old :oldgit:thanks for the reminder
  4. best of luck in your search for (the cross) u-joints. might be a good item to have on hand, just in case. hopefully they are as cheap as they should be. if you come up with any specs or numbers, please post. I'll help with the search.
  5. $25 as wall art (with provenance) is exactly what that frame is worth. Keep us updated on the new "red one"
  6. I hope you are doing good hrc. Are you riding yet? I must have missed your crash if previously posted.
  7. the camera mount must be on or just rear of the bars, center, with the lens ghosting it. A remote operator?? It must be very small. Could just imagine the distraction of that spinning around....ridiculous. Bravo!
  8. thanks for the insight Niels
  9. The "crime scene" has no doubt been compromised, but is there anyway to tell if the fracture surface has evidence of being cracked for sometime? (ie: one side clean and the other dirty) I'm with the others suggesting yolk failure and still am wondering why. Is it possible to tighten one side enough to crack it? The other bolt holding as long as it could. Through over torque, inaccurate wrench, and/or flawed casting. I wish I had more confidence in the torque wrench "process", especially the lite spec bolts. Then there's that thread stress thing where some bolts are only good for one torque use. how's it go? "Moto Guzzi ... turning riders into mechanics for 100 years" (and, mechanics into + + )
  10. And which "style" wrench do you prefer Chuck? Inquiring minds...
  11. great spot! you coulda camped there if you had to. and cell phone coverage!
  12. ouch. hope there was no danger involved. looks like p/n 01358730 runs '99- '05 so, I have one from Hal's '03 RC
  13. a lovely piece of work. I would prefer a teeeeeeeensie bit more cover to the rear, but since It doesn't rain there, you'll be fine. Do they do one for the rear tire?
  14. "Say three Hail Marabeses" a small demonstration is in order for this conjure Docc
  15. thanks for sharing. I'm looking into this gauge change.
  16. get better quick brother
  17. the '02 started dripping onto the xover 3 years years ago. it was a disintegrating case/frame vent tube. the '00 I just got into my life is doing the same. It's SO obviously a rotten vent tube, again, onto the xover. The '02 also leaked from the timing sensor. None of the leaks made it to the floor.
  18. well.. um.. he can't seem to stop buying motorcycles

bad girl. no ktm test ride?
  20. Dave, how are you liking the cans? I think the Agostini's on my '00 Sport are basically the same can as the Mistral, and I gotta say I like the sound they make much better than the MG Ti cans. Deep, loud enough, with no "glass pack" rasp. I think you made the right choice over the Staintune's.
  21. happy story Tinus
  22. I'm sure there are "holes" for consistant gps connection. I's happened to me a few times on my I phone maps/directions gps. Oddly enough, two times were in TN. Once when I went to pick up the Rosso, the blue dot went down the road without me, and would Not recognize my turn. Another time the blue dot went off on it's own through an open field, then came to it's senses a half mile down the road. Did the same thing on the way back. Weird. East TN. Seems legit it would mess with the speedo too
  23. I got put the Roadtec 01 front on my Ducati ST3 today, along with new brake pads. Went for quick romp. Very pleased with the handling, but as always, I'm comparing a new tire to a worn-out tire. Funny thing though. It was the first time I had put a front tire on the ST3 myself, so I stripped off all the weights, put the empty wheel on the balancer and marked the heavy spot (which was about 30 degrees away from the valve stem). BTW, this is a cast Brembo wheel, very similar to the V11's front wheel, maybe even identical. Anyway, I carefully lined up the red dot (light spot on tire) with the heavy spot on the wheel. And miraculously... it was perfectly balanced. First time I've ever installed a tire and didn't need any weights. Cool! what type of wheel balance/stuff/tools do you possess?
  24. Rear wheel bearings are prone to destruct in some bikes. I check them every time the wheel is off and they have been "notchy" every time. Evidently on some bikes, the axle bearing spacer in the wheel is a bit short. This causes pressure on the inner race of both bearings, and their demise. I hope that is causing your problem because it's an easy fix.
  25. all I saw in the list was a red '03. it looks pretty clean in the one pic. ask for some emailed photos. sometimes it takes a leap of faith.
