  1. you could fab a small bracket and attach to the hanger so it doesn't touch the can. on the bracket, mount the Lafranconi guards
  2. the one in Cincinnati is ...um... no longer there
  3. I wanna see those Cans!
  4. lol...tempting, but honestly, I'm with ya on the tires Dave. I'd pick her up fer sure. No surprises.
  5. if you ride it back pack some relays for the trip. If the owner hasn't done it already, you'll want a new batch of Omrons anyway.
  6. Good job Dave. The timing was right!
  7. It's a pricy Tenni, but considering condition, mileage, and there's probably no more than 38-40 of them in the US, not that bad, if you have to have a Tenni. The aluminum flywheel will need to be addressed at some point in the next 10-15k miles if you want to feel secure against failure. Tenni, Scura, and Rosso Mandello all suffer from an inadequately manufactured flywheel. Many of us have done the swap, lots of info here.
  8. very clean LeMans. Near to you?
  9. Buying the Roper plate means you've at least taken "mental possession" of one. Good on ya. Decide which model or range you want, and begin the search. You could get lucky or it might take some time, so be diligent. I've watched the market pretty seriously for several years. Cycle Trader, and CL Search Tempest mostly, monitoring classifieds here and Wild Guzzi. There are periods of feast and of famine. Having a low production number to start with, combined with price and condition variables, it can prove tough to find the one true love. But, it can be done. Bikes with issues can be 2-3k$, and the "collector" versions can hit 10k on the high end. I feel comfy saying you can still find a nice example @ 4-5k. I have ... 3 times. Anyway, welcome to the forum. Good luck on the search and the find. Keep us posted! We like pics!
  10. The new cans look good on yer bike Dave. Crossover is next. Did Jim's bike have the crossover as well? That'll make it a tad quicker.
  11. very nice job. thanks for a good look into the carc unit. makes me want .. want.. ..
  12. plus 1 on welcome, Emmy Lou, and Imgzeit V11 Sport prototype
  13. Some folks are enthusiasts. Some are hobbyists. Still others, image is the priority. The latter group I would suggest, just doesn’t take motorcycling seriously. They don’t know their limits. Whatever machine this lot rides, they will likely fall down at some point
  14. it's a stand alone question. in general. you've got a bolt in with thread loc and you want to re torque or check for tightness. if you move it at all, you break the bond, right?
  15. and I was just wondering why the foot is angled upwards and does not sit flat on a flat surface? for uneven surfaces? is this science or just fup duck?
  16. mine are still there. thanks for the replacement Tim.
  17. a slight diversion please.... when checking for tightness, or re- torquing a bolt you've previously used loc-tite/threadlock on, haven't you "broken" the lock?
  18. That one was discussed on WG recently. Consensus is that it's a 2002 Red-Grey LeMans that somehow got a Nero Corsa tank and tail. another possibility is it being an '03 "carryover" with some Corsa bodywork. the hints are 1. the rectifier is under the oil cooler (reversed on '02), and 2. the one (poor) photo of the engine looks to be the non-bubbling paint. the white gauges would still be correct for an early '03 but I'd guess those are not the originals, speedo at least. The title could say '02 if it were crashed or stolen, and the DMV went by the build date on the frame. anyway you look at it, wait for better. forgot to mention the decade old hydro fluids
  19. here's another https://bikescreen.com/products/moto-guzzi-v-11-sport-2001-2005
  20. beautiful bike voycie.
  21. Coarse yes, sorry I don’t have a gauge
  22. 35mm M12? Not too sure about the M but it measures about 11.6mm with calipers. I guess that’s a 12. Full thread Allen. Shnoor washer
  23. Dave, when I did my clutch swap, I noticed mine gone in the same spot. No idea how long I went without but there was no problems I could tell. The hole was perfectly lined up. scary tho. PM your add and I'll send you one. (if you can wait that long:)
  24. yes, and stay away from a seller calling it a Gucci
