audiomick Posted May 13 Posted May 13 (edited) If you want to get your German visitors up and running, try this. They love it. Edited May 13 by audiomick 3

p6x Posted May 14 Posted May 14 Listen to the original, in a beautiful scenic context, and then the cover by the Graystones... both are... breathtaking in their own respect; 4

That's also a favorite of Kathi's -- my Perfect Pillion & Polish Princess. I have another version set on my streaming list, so that if I see her heading down to the Moto Grappa, I have it start as she comes in the door! I appreciate you reminding me about this, as it's her birthday today, and when she gets off the phone with her brother, I'll launch that. I am a bit of a party-pooper for her about the clapping thing. I detest it, but, as most good husbands, have learned to keep that to myself as she so obviously exults in that. Bill 1

It often gets played as an encore at concerts, and as often as not the conductor will actually conduct the audience when to start and stop clapping. 1

audiomick Posted May 16 Posted May 16 If I had a boat like that, I would most likely be able to die happy. 1

audiomick Posted May 16 Posted May 16 (edited) Fishing for girls in a boat, maybe? I think I'd be up for that. Edited May 16 by audiomick 1 1
audiomick Posted May 16 Posted May 16 (edited) This popped into my head earlier this evening. Don't know why, but it's always good. Could be that I have posted it before, but as I wrote, it is always good. Edited May 16 by audiomick
audiomick Posted May 16 Posted May 16 Look at this, or better still, listen to this. All those saxophones, and not a single squawk.
audiomick Posted May 16 Posted May 16 (edited) Although Dvořák no. 9 "From the new world" is pretty hard to mess up. Incidentally, the concert hall that that video was filmed in is the old Gasteig in Munich that I have mentioned previously in a couple of posts. For those who happen to not be Musicologists, the "From the new world" bit relates to the U.S.A. Dvořák went to New York in 1892, and the piece reflects the musical inspirations he found there. Speaking of Munich Mick the next time you are there it's worth a whole day to visit the Deutsches Museum of science and technology. I was there 40 years ago and if you are interested in anything of a mechanical nature it's the place to visit. The aviation section has everything German and in the basement they have full sectioned Uboat. Quite amazing. I really like Munich and have been there a few times to collect new motorcycles and look around. Phil 1
