  1. Past hour
  2. I have the springs and will send you a private message. There is a lot of good info on this forum regarding shift improvement, and this is the time to do it. If you managed to get this far, you are a good enough mechanic to do the rest.
  3. I agree with Phil, airlines only. Private pilots and general aviation, great hobby. I'll watch, thank you. If I'm going up, I'm going somewhere and will take the flying bus. I'm good with all these billionaires with their private jets and chauffeured cars that they don't even wear seatbelts. Just not good for me. Go ahead, you very smart, very rich guys, you know better. What could go wrong when you pay for the best?
  4. Yes. I took a friend of mine for a ride on mine. Total of about 1 and 1/2 hours. I don't expect she will be getting on the Le Mans again. But that seat isn't exactly pretty. I think I would prefer to consider the Le Mans as a solo machine. The back seat on the Breva 750 is pretty comfortable, I think.
  5. Do you happen to know how long that takes on average? I have no idea. What I saw in the excerpts in that video didn't exactly inspire confidence in her skills. I'm doing my best to resist writing a sentence with the word "blonde" in it.
  6. Well, he said it took her 8 months from solo to checkflight. One might wonder how many times she was recycled.
  7. Yesterday
  8. Yep. One could wonder how she got the license in the first place.
  9. Never mind the styling. Ask the other half after an hour's ride.
  10. Yep, the first thing I'd do is get rid of that seat! Then source a stock one or one where you can still use the cowling.A V11 just doesn't look right without it.....
  11. To Start: I'm not very experienced as a mechanic. Recently I began having shifting problems on my 2001 V11 Rosso Mandello, which I've owned for about 4 years. Suspecting an issue with the pawl spring and having a spare spring that came with the bike, I pulled the cover off the gear box following directions I found on this forum. The existing pawl spring was deformed when compared with the replacement. I replaced the spring and put everything back together, but I have this left over small metal tube that I fell off onto the bottom of the gearbox when I removed the cover. Looking at pictures in the manual as well as a few pictures on this forum, it appears to have fallen out of hole in the pic below. I see evidence of a prior attempt to cement this tube in place. I also note that I cannot simply push this pin back in, I would need to tap it in with a mallet. Is it correct to just tap this tube into place within the hole? How do I prevent it from falling out again once I've put the cover back into place? Is this even the original part? Finally, a few years ago I heard that someone on this forum was making a heavier replacement spring. Is this true? Where would I go to get one? Thanks
  12. Not a big turnout because of early off and on rain, but the Norton guys don't mind the precip. @swooshdavehad his Interstate at the head of the pack and the Norton Club was there in full force. I had my Coppa there. Just one other Guzzi. We all lucked out though, rain stopped by 8AM.
  13. Had some great seats for Joe Purdy and Tedeschi Trucks Band. Some stuff I hadn't heard from them were The Letter and Beck's Bolero for a closer.
  14. One of my Sports has a leather seat that is a little worse for wear and is pretty slippery. I would be up for one of them if there are no other takers. I would like to bring it back to stock again. I don't think this leather one was, but not sure.
  15. A little Mark Knopfler, a little Jimmy Buffet, a little Bruce Springsteen. Nice.
  16. You can't even talk about Coke or Pepsi w/o it becoming a fistfight . I do know , I don't have the answers.
  17. When a black man or woman pick up a musical instrument or microphone they become one and they give it EVERYTHING they got .
  18. Same leak on mine. The breather hose checked out fine. I sealed the TPS with a small amount of RTV to see if that's the source. I have a timing cover gasket on hand if it turns out to be the problem.
  19. Yeah, airplanes. I grew up thinking I'd be a fighter pilot, but at age I realized they were all jets and the romance (of youth) of dogfights was pretty much gone. Truly, I never had sufficient working memory to be anything more than a private pilot, and had neither resources nor reason to fly. Helicopters, now, that's a different story. After extensive travel by rotary in military craft, I'll say that if the resources show up I'll do that. Given my history with motorcycles, it's unlikely that aircraft would be more dangerous in my hands lol I have very good spacial awareness and sense of direction. I don't get seasick. I'm not afraid of heights. I consider myself marginal for licensed flight. There is no profit in shaming the dead, but this woman really shanked the ball and wasn't overconfident- she was ignorant of her own shortcomings, which was kinda the point of this video.
  20. Thank you guys. I’ll do what you have advised!
