They’re the feed for your Moto Guzzi branded heated penis gourd. Sadly this was not a popular accessory and was only available for a period of a few short weeks in the early 2000’s. Why they were unpopular at the time remains a mystery and now, two decades on, are one of the most prized and sought after accessories, especially among the ‘Cold of Todger’, most noticeably with owners in the higher latitudes. Unfortunately in recent years there have been a variety of cheap impersonations of the original product but being from shadowy, nameless suppliers from a variety of nations not prized for the quality of their low-volume knock-off products. This has led to unfounded claims of both ‘Chaffing’ and, even more worrying, ‘Scalding’ when wearing these doppelgänger products! At the end of the day, unless you are able to secure an original, factory, item they are best avoided. As mentioned, they rarely come up for sale but if you post a request for help finding one I would suggest a site like Canadian or Scandinavian Grindr. Do be prepared to have to sieve through the responses carefully for genuine replies.6 points

I worked on a 88 Chevy p-up w a 350 TBI that had been sitting a couple of years . No start= no fuel injector spray. Tapped on the TBI unit (extremely) close to the injectors and it cranked and ran. I kept this secret to myself until now.3 points

Finally, the pinion carrier was taken out at the MPH shop... it shows the difference when you have the proper setup to work... Here's a macro photo of each of the 8 tooth... I suppose few of us have seen one in the flesh. This was my first time too. You can see the metal has lost its surface treatment, and the teeth had metal being torn apart. I have ordered the one from eBay.2 points

FWIW, just adding "more fuel" has been shown to be the wrong path for the V11, for various reasons. More success has been achieved unplugging the PC and making certain all of the tuning parameters are correct.2 points

TPS adjusted , Valves adjusted, Fuel filter replaced, new plugs, new air filter, and fresh gas. The bike was sputtering and bucking under 3 grand and runs smooth above for the most part and pulls well. The person that did the work is a pro mechanic and has 20 plus years as a lead mechanic at a Guzzi shop called Moto International. The bike has not been run for years, and the prior owner didn't do anything with it but once and a while run it around the block. Tapping on the injector brought it to life and its now functioning and we surmise that its the injector being fowled a bit. Once I have it cleaned using the fuel injection cleaner, I will adjust the Power commander on it for more fuel if need be. My next thought is to pull them and clean them.2 points

I send mine off messed up and they come back and I'm happy. They send a report of before/after. I think I use RC Fuel Injector Service . I like to keep my injectors the same ones that are on the bike w/so much junk on the market I am afraid to go with something else.2 points

Why would you want to use rubbish like these when Guzzidiag is available for free is beyond me. Even if I already own one it would sit in the draw unused these days.1 point

It is very close to that. I don't remember if I got it to exactly 157, but within a couple of mV for sure. Why I'm happy within "a couple": I watched Bernd, the author of Guzzidiag, and Karsten, the chief administrator of the German forum out of which Guzzidiag was born, set up a V11 a couple of years ago. Bernd was on the computer, and Karsten was on the screwdriver. Karsten got 160 mV, and was satisfied with that. The value 157 mV came from Meinolf, also a member of that forum. There is contact and discussion between the three of them on the subject, so I reckon if Karsten and Beard (Bernd) are satisfied with "within a couple of mV", it is probably good enough for me. Don't get me wrong, 157 mV is the target. But if practicalities like how the thing jumps a bit when you tighten up the last turn of the screw get in the way, you don't have to have kittens about a mV or two. PS: the V11 in question ran very well after the tune-up, and the owner was delighted. It was a Greenie.1 point

Surprisingly it doesn't look that "bad" considering the time it was underway with no fluid, and none of the teeth are actually missing. As you've been driving it without any noticeable increase in noise as well since then and no noticeable performance issues either, had you just bought the bike in this condition, you may not have even noticed that it was worn down like this. That suggests this is tough metal to begin with and can take a fair amount of abuse. It's almost a wear and tear item...who knows what it looked like before the mishap.1 point

This was tuned to another bike. It hasn't been set up for mine. I'm giving it a shot to see if it helps and gets it closer and if it doesn't then I will take the bike to a dyno. I'm trying not to spend the 6-700.00 bucks to dyno it and doing what I can myself. I live 2 or more hours from anywhere and at least one ferry ride to get over the pond to Seattle. I hate going into town. If all else fails I will take the PC off and run it with stock tuning and pipes to see how that responds. I have 5 bikes in the garage and its a choice with each one how much I will spend to make them what I want... I have a 87 MG Sp2 that is next and its carbed... another rabbit hole...LOL1 point

Here's my bevelled box; you can understand why I am not so eager to replace with a rough looking one. I am going to fix this one. Replacing the gear ring and pinion set. I tried again to remove the pinion carrier without success. This afternoon, I am taking it o MPH.1 point

Thanks... They all look aesthetically beat up, and more expensive, by far, than the one I found on eBay for $200. Quick calculation, the best looking one is 425 EUR minus VAT 21%, you add the cost of shipping, the import tax, now than the below $800 exemption has been revoked. Tomorrow, I will take the drive out, try one more time to remove the pinion carrier, and head out to MPH; Mike never responded to my email about the loss of my drain plug. MPH have a lot of Guzzi spares from their dealership days.1 point

You can't recondition injectors these days you just clean them and check them for leaking and their flow rate and replace the o rings if needs be. Just as cheap to buy new aftermarket ones. If you buy cheap Chinese copies buy 5 or 6 and test them for flow rate and match them up as best you can and use as matched pairs. They tend to vary a bit in flow rate. You can clean injectors yourself by simply running them in a small ultrasonic jewellery cleaner with 5 volts connected to the injector to hold it open. Phil1 point

You can try removing the injectors and sending them off for reconditioning . That is the only thing to do.1 point

Yes, indeed! ~38,000 miles/almost 60.000km and 8 1/2 years on the circuit breaker. I had tried the MAXI fuse soldered in line, but it, too, failed from the heat.1 point

Many find 0.006/0.008 a better set-up, so your intake was really not that far off. My sidestand wiring has a little zip-tie that gathers it, loosely, to the cover mount. I would love to see some 3D printed eagle medallions. Years ago, @sp838 made some with the Gambalunghino eagle.1 point

Hi guys. Thank you again for the guidance. Here's an embarrassing admission. Just looked in on the bike and noticed the battery had yet to reach full charge (Optimate connected to pigtail). Upon inspection noticed the negative terminal had become very loose. I'm now hoping that this 'Mechanic 101' error / oversight is to blame. I'll still follow your guidance as it's all learning, but I've fingers crossed for an easy fix... :-)1 point

Once restarted, also check that the tach is not erratic and the headlamps/brake light/horn work. This fault combination indicates a bad Relay #2 which also supplies the reference voltage for the charging system.1 point

Thank you chaps. Monaco GP just finished so heading to the shed to follow your guidance. I did put it on charge for a while and it started fine so that was a relief. Expensive weekend. For the sake of completeness, again, yes, it is in quite good condition. The one screw hole, the last one towards the rider that holds the screen on, is broken out. That could probably be repaired by plastic welding that bit from the broken fairing in, or just be ignored. A plastic weld would likely mean re-painting, or at least a touch-up. Ignoring the defect would avoid a re-paint. Also, there appeared to be three very fine scratches on the front end. Maybe one could polish them out. All in all, considering that fairing parts for the Le Mans models are a bit rarer than hen's teeth, I think it was a reasonable buy.1 point
