  3. Well, if you are going to put a new crossover, you might as well also get a set of headers from a 2002 or earlier V11 and eliminate the front crossover pipe. If you're in no hurry, I bet something would turn up in the next 6 months. You also could post a want ad on Wild Guzzi or a Facebook Guzzi group.

  4. I would imagine that this clip has been a number of times before in the past. For Spine Raid 21 how about some CCR seeing how they were the first act to be signed up for Woodstock and it will be my first Spine Raid.

  5. IF you own a motorcycle engine and this plate will fit it , the plate needs to be on it.

  6. I seem to recall Pete saying the V11 being even more susceptible to oil starvation on hard acceleration because of the low first gear of the 6speeder. Plus, something about oil levels in V11 often being low since their owners are a vast lot of hairy-arsed knuckle draggers barely qualified to wield rusty star pickets. [Of course he never said that! I'm just showing off my study of his colorful vernacular while suggesting we keep oil levels up. ]

  7. That's a hard hit. You might want to check the edges of your rims. I bent the rear on my BMW hitting a pot hole. Didn't lose air and was repairable.

  8. I replaced the taillight lens on mine... Reason...I was riding into work a couple of Fridays ago when I hit a bloody huge pothole just before peeling off to the servo for gas. Christ it felt more like a crater, but anyways whist I'm fumbling with getting my helmet off ( hands were freezing and fingers numb ) a bloke comes over and tells me he was right behind me when I hit the pothole and saw my taillight explode and fly off everywhere! What the...? Sure enough I look behind me and all I've got is two screws left where the lens should've been! Shit so all I could do was ride on as is and hope there no rozzers about! Once home I ordered another with my mechanic Rob which took a week or so to arrive and I could pick it up and install. So,I was able to ride into the office again yesterday with a taillight again without any dramas other than it was fookin FREEZING! I later found out it was 1 degree on our balcony and minus 1 ish on the Longwarry flats....Arghhhh. Glad I had the thermals on but it was murder on the hands. Oh well at least it was better on the ride home.. a balmy 8 degrees! Be glad to see the arse end of this cold snap and more so the inept state government fixing these goat tracks they call a national highway! Although no one's holding their breath on that! Anyways glad to report the green one is back to her glorious good- looking self again. Cheers Ps forgot to mention that the lens was actually cracked in a couple of places and being 21 years old and with UV exposure the pothole was just the last straw! Anyways it gave ole mate Dave and Rob a good laugh!

  10. A new pair of rocker cover gaskets couldn't hurt. And how is the crankcase breather hose? A small leak from that can spread into mysterious places.

  11. More rpm, she is getting enough fuel. Had some black exhaust staines on my RCorsa, different mapping, better, but not easy to get high temperatures at the end of a V11 exhaust system. On the pork shops, may be fumes from airfilter box, intake pipes. Mine will get spots, greasy/oilish . And l don’t have any obviously leaks. Just clean and be happy. Sounds like she is running good, since this was your only concern. Cheers Tom.

  12. I installed a 12V DIGITAL LED meter on my 2007 Norge without fiddling around or tapping into the wiring, using a direct connection from the battery. This also fixes the always-on problem or parasitic drain, thanks to a touch-on and touch-off feature built into the meter. It cost $5 US from Amazon. I used a hole saw to cut into the upper flat part of the Norge fairing and ran the wiring directly from the battery. clicky>> https://www.amazon.com/Battery-Voltmeter-Digital-Waterproof-Motorcycle/dp/B0CQ881B52?gQT=1&th=

  15. Yesterday, I rode Ebbetts Pass for the first time and it might just be my new favorite road. I was on the Stelvio going from Sacramento airport to Mammoth Lakes and it got me wanting to back and ride it on a V11. Then I started thinking about the Sierra Spine Raid idea that I've been incubating for too long. So... I am testing interest in gathering in Mammoth Lakes, CA in early October, when the high-altitude roads are still open and the aspens are putting on a color show. Tentatively October 9-13, with flexible arrival/departure dates. There is a hotel in town with covered parking (not garage). The hotel I'm thinking of is walking distance to my house, which has a two-car garage and can accommodate several bikes. Potential routes include: Ebbets Pass: https://scenic4.org/the-route/the-driving-experience/. << required reading Yosemite Valley via Tioga Pass Short loops around Mammoth and June Lake area Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest Lake Tahoe Sonora Pass Mono Lake and Benton Hot Springs (and search for wild mustangs on route 120) There are plenty of dirt bike trails here too in case anybody wants to trailer two bikes. What say you? Interested enough for me to inquire regarding a small block of rooms?

  16. Last week I rode Carson Pass (think Kit Carson) and Sonora Pass (the second-highest in CA at 9,624 feet elevation). All the passes over the Sierra Nevada between Mammoth Lakes and Lake Tahoe are close to 100 miles each, with hardly any stop signs or cross traffic. Here is an interesting sign at the Westbound entrance of Sonora Pass from Hwy 395. Steep 26%... that seems redundant... but I can attest that there are some steep sections. In fact, I'm not sure I have ever seen a sign with a higher percent grade. Wouldn't you like to hear your V11 at about 5,000 RPM working hard on a grade that steep? Accelerating up something like that would make you happy you installed a Roper Sloppage Tray.
