  1. A chum posted these photos for me to show greater detail, thanks David more work headed your way! Phil, you’re quite right not a prefect match but close. The left side of this small under chin piece has been painted and the right side is the original so this gives some perspective of the mismatch in colour. In this application it’s acceptable for me. I painted all of the right side of the fairing other than the top inch or so, masked it off on the body line so the mismatch is far less obvious where the two panels meet. Plan on clear coating in a Matt finish so finished phots to follow

  2. Hi! I wanted to know if there is some kind of thematic group in a messenger? For example, Telegram?

  3. The outrigger bearing in the bevelbox is particularly weird in that the inner race has a hole in it that seems Al mostly deliberately chosen to allow water ingress! You can of course buy an standard aftermarket bearing without this interesting *Feature* for a lot less than a ‘Guzzi’ bearing. Also just as a heads up if you’re having trouble getting the rusted, munty old bearing out of the box the factory expanding puller for the needle roller bearings in the old five speed gearbox works a treat. Just take your bevelbox to some crusty old fart who never moved beyond five speeds and, if you can stand being sprayed with phlegm for not riding an Eldorado, they’ll be able to pull it for you in five minutes.

  5. Today on the Mighty 190. This time of the year it's better to get a early start up to Ponderosa. Not many cars, pretty much have the whole road to myself-except the occasional very large Kenworth grill out of a blind corner hauling dead trees. Used to it. Where my Ducati 999S was in her happy place in the tight twistes, the LM seems happier in the long sweepers. No worries we have plenty of both around here-and I knew that going in.

  6. Thanks for posting David. Asked David to post this in larger format, the main side panel has been painted but the small sub panel that bolts to it is original paint and decal so again one can see the slight shade differences that are acceptable to me but perhaps not all.

  8. Sew... My V11 is still wearing the OEM relays after 25 years Thought I'd put spares on the shelf, the 1100 Sport uses the same relays Ordered 10 from DigiKey , packlist says 10 ordered 10 shipped Came in a rack of 15. I'd ask WTF but I never look a gift horse in the mouth.

  10. Let me begin with no pictures were taken! I'll include the map @Scud put together for us. Scud and I live somewhat close to one another and have tried to get together for some time. At last, I left Mission Viejo and rode the 40 miles to his place in beautiful Carlsbad. After sitting on his numerous Guzzis stacked in his garage, we took off for the hills. Avoiding highways, we wrapped through the twisties with stops for fuel, coffee, and bladder relief. A 150-mile ride, and both bikes performed great. We plan to do a garage day soon and tweak each just a bit. Much of the roads were rather tight, thus slow going, but brisk enough to be fun. When finally approaching Lake Elsinore, Highway 74, also known as Ortega Highway, the bikes stretched their legs. This was my first shot at really ripping through the turns. The bike handled great, however, I still need to remove that abrupt off-idle hop. In turns, once planted, getting on the throttle took finesse to not upset the suspension. It wasn't terrible by any means, but I was trying to push it and every bit counts. On the straightaway, I did 120 mph and as you all already know, anything past 4k includes a big smile!

  11. btw, @Scud, you weren't kidding about the steepness of THAT hill, WOW! It's hard to believe they even built a road like that. I'm certain I've owned vehicles that could not have climbed that!

  12. If you click on the photos they will get quite large for detail. The representation is very good considering it's a rattle can. I didn't realize it is the new paint next to original till you mentioned it. For those who don't know, the '02 Tenni paint is a matte finish, and is meant to mimic the factory race paint zinc chromate (green) and the bare hammered aluminum gas tank. The bike came with a faux suede seat as well as a black vinyl one. I wish they'd done wire spoke rims.

  14. You can purchase repair sleeves for this problem. I have used them for a long time. They used to be very inexpensive, but they have caught on and are now expensive. With that being said, the sleeve is less than a new part !

  16. Yup, nope, mine is good. Just the tip, nothing on the seal area and even then buffed off well.

  19. Yes not Ballabio. Ballabio had handlebars and later canted triples but with the the top triple not having 6mm holes for the over the clamp clip ons locating bolts. The over the clamp clip on are around 1 inch higher and don't vibrate as much as the under clamp swan neck clip ons. Forks were 43mm hollow axle with nut on the left which are longer than the original 40mm forks for under the clamp clipons.. Phil

  21. Cameras. Huh. The pics really don't show what the eye sees here, but. The stock porkchops have turned a shade of purple south of red, noticeably darker than the frame. I bought a set of porkchops from TLM to get the swingarm pivot pins, and they were nicer overall so I cleaned them up and painted them to swap on. I found red caliper paint, much more durable than regular enamel, to be a pretty good match; again the camera doesn't really show the shade well, given the stock trans mount has the sheen off due to age and cleaning, the porkchops not yet dry. I think they'll end up very close, perhaps a half tone brighter and certainly shinier than the frame- though I did paint the front engine mount so most of what you can see will be the same.

  22. The 'production' class H-D 883s were fine examples of CHEATING lol Nobody seemed to think twice if you got a push start, so the fast guys gutted the starters and fitted tiny batteries in the stock case. Removed half the magnets from the generator rotor, shaved the inside of the flywheels where it couldn't be seen without splitting the cases, shaved the inside of the rims where it couldn't be seen with the tires on... All stuff I learned after the class ended, of course. Starter cover weighs nothing, and...appears unmeddled.

  24. Good times... North San Diego and SW bits of Riverside counties have some fabulously steep and narrow roads with all the blind corners a guy could ever want. Then the legendary Ortega has smooth pavement and excellent visibility through the sweepers. And there's nothing wrong with a straight ride on I-5 through Camp Pendleton with uninterrupted natural coastline and fresh ocean air for about 20 miles.
