We had a southern jet stream driven heat wave role into the Bluegrass country, temps got up to 77 by afternoon. Took the opportunity to pick up my bike and air out any carbon buildup. About halfway home noticed the rear brake was sticking, heated up the rear disc. So we pulled over and pried open the pads with a pocket knife, looks like a rear master cylinder rebuild kit and brake pads are the next items on the parts list. It was a nice ride on curvy roads, bike ran brilliantly besides the brake hiccup.

Looks like a long frame early 2003 V11 Sport Naked, with chin pad and Veglia gauges. I wish I could buy them all.

Lucky Phil I agree that the heat cycles would make this a bad idea. To be honest I didn't think it was even possible thus why I originally thought it was some sort of carbon fiber tape wrapped over the OEM valve covers. While this bike is def on the higher end on price, its rare and has a lot of farkles added, very nice example of a V11.

Nice Coppa Italia with low mileage, and what appears to be carbon fiber valve covers. Must be some kind of wrap, but looks the biz. https://www.cycletrader.com/listing/2004-Moto+Guzzi-V11+COPPA+ITALIA-5020770475

Triumph Speed RR versus Ducati Panigale V2?
Joe replied to p6x's topic in Special place for banter and conversation
p6x have you ever considered a Indian FTR? The S and Carbon are lookers along with the fact that they have an upright seating position with a handle bar? Its a 120 HP V-twin that sounds good. -
Count me in on a carbon fiber seat cover.

Updated pics Rosso with the MPH riser kit using V10 Centauro throttle cable. All the credit goes to Kale on this install, he also cleaned on the bike quite a bit while waiting for me to source parts. The goal now is to ride these bikes to the Spine Raid Rally in Tellico Plains this summer.

Triumph Speed RR versus Ducati Panigale V2?
Joe replied to p6x's topic in Special place for banter and conversation
I've been around Triumph since the 1990's because my father was best friends with the Central KY RAT leader. Although the quality has never been comparable to most Ducati's, they have improved over the years. I also thought that all new models are made in UK for a term before they transition to Thailand to control the quality, but maybe that was for the Bonnie, not 100% positive about the newest models. I had a 07 Triumph Tiger 1050 w 36k miles that ran perfect before I traded it, chain drive, cable actuated clutch and all. -

I don't know if you couldn't go wrong with any of the sport bikes listed above as technology has produced better and more advanced motorcycles. I had a chance to sit on a Triumph Speed Triple 1200RR during Vintage Days at Barber this past fall, it felt amazing, light and drop dead gorgeous. That's beyond the fact that its a screaming triple. -

I had my dad walk out to his barn today and take a few pics of the old Italian made Indian 50cc two stroke. Maybe from Italjet or Franco Morini? This bike hasn't ran since around 1990-ish. -

Rode about an over to Kale's garage today to install a riser kit from MPH. This is my second MPH kit I have bought, the first one, which is on Kale's silver V11 Sport (a bike I had bought new in 2002) was installed by the late Mike Wells, a highly regarded mechanic in Lexington KY. Mike died riding his Honda 305 Super hawk in an AHRMA race at Mid-Ohio a few years ago. Anyways, I remember walking into the Lexington Motorsports shop 20 yrs ago and listening to Mike cuss fitting the kit to my bike. Today I had the luxury of realizing what Mike meant all those years ago. The clutch hydraulic line was wire tired about 9 times down the spine frame. We started to cross thread the transmission solenoid side before we dropped the pipes and removed it. All that said, with the risers installed the throttle cable is now too short too reach without being routed overtop the triple tree. Did the long frame bikes have a different length or longer throttle cable? If so I will wait to get another cable before putting it all back together.

Awe…..I was waiting for the ICE purist to show up. ✔️ Look I love gasoline as much as you, but reality check it’s probably not forever. -
For my son Landon. I know the gasoline ICE purist will not like the fact that its an electric bike, but that's the world young Landon grew up into. The EFTR Jr is a replica of the FTR Carbon, capable of 7mph in low and 15 mph in high settings. It has front and rear brakes with rear adjustable suspension. Learning battery charging management will probably do him well in his lifetime. My first bike was a smoking(literally) Italian made 50cc two stroke, Indian badged import from the 70's, I loved that bike and its still in my parents garage today.
