+1 with Lucky Phil on that. Vapor lock doesn’t typically occur while fuel is flowing. Something looks to have gotten hot and recovered after a cool off, though. Failing relays can do that. Especially the #5 in the V11, and extra-especially if it is not a true High Current relay.

Six weeks out and probably time to get the serious talk out of the way. Then we can return to our regularly scheduled BS . . . Concerns over considerate distancing and appropriate face covering persist. Beyond looking out for yourself and one another, let's be especially considerate of our innkeepers. They have to be in close proximity to folks from all over and often in the close space of their front desk. Let's just please be aware that a face covering and a bit of distance will be a kindness toward Walt and his good folks at The Lodge. No breakfast is being served because of the very close space downstairs. Let's all plan accordingly. Even our usual evening pizza-fest should be given some thought and care. Otherwise, there is that whole thing about this not being an *event*, but simply an idea. Good questions. I wonder what "under-performing 20 amp max" unit they are referring to. My Workshop Manual graphs the factory unit showing 20 amps at 2,000 RPM and up from there. Looks to be the same stator connections with the dubious white Zip-tie for strain relief.

Nope, not "rope." At first, I thought the tie to be Nylon cord, but it is not. It is wire covered in braided heat shielding impregnated with what appears to be an epoxy. As are the heat shield sleeves over the wire leads themselves which are connected directly to the windings' output rather than the original method of both soldered separately into eyelets mounted to a fragile extension much like the strain relief mount which had a simple Zip-tie (seen broken in this view):

How are the weaves different? The 1x1 is "finer?"

Here is ElectroSport's solution to heat fragility and strain relief for these long known failure points on the V11 stator ($154.00US). I'll be swapping this new unit onto the Sport and re-engineering the old stator's connections as a spare . . .

And who says a spoogy throttle body on an old Moto Guzzi doesn't make for a lively and engaging conversation piece?

Funny thing, riding this morning it occurred to me that I should pull the dust seals down and inspect/clean that space. I've always been afraid of damaging the dust seal messing with it . . .

Yep, "they do that." Made worse if we pressurize the system briefly (switching the fuel pump on and off, or brief start-ups). Otherwise, there are procedures to address the throttle shaft and sealing O-rings.
