  1. Nice job of manufacturing..
  2. Open up..
  3. DeOxit may be expensive..but.. just today our robot vacuum cleaner went tits up. Googled the error code it gave, and everyone says, "She's dead, Jim.." It's either the switch which is soldered to the motherboard or the really expensive battery or the connector to it is broken. Unhooked the battery, squirted about a nickle's worth of DeOxit on the switch, cycled it a few times, squirted some on the battery connection and wiggled it around.. and.. it's just like a.... New $400 robot. I can't begin to tell you how much DeOxit has saved me over the years, not to mention keeping my scooters running. Believe me, before I had it, any bike I left sitting next to the ocean at Dorcia's kid's place had electrical issues.
  4. I doubt it's a problem.. but.. if it's flat, I'll surface grind them for you. Free. (Guzzi content) Don't tell anyone, though..
  5. You'll never go wrong getting a sickle from the Kid..
  6. Probably not. How about a picture?
  7. These bikes are meant to last and lately I think of myself as partly curating my Sport for the next owner, whoever they may be It's just like antique airplanes. You don't "own" one, you just maintain it for the next keeper.
  8. I'm *assuming* they have a small dome to make them rotate? I'm *not* a Guzzi mechanic..
  9. Dunno. A Norvin used the repopped Vincent engine coupled to a Norton frame. It was affordable to ordinary mortals, but still expensive.
  10. I'd take an oil stone to it if it's not deep. Just do the best you can to keep the profile.
  11. I toyed with the idea of building one of these back in the 90s. Fortunately, I had an attack of common sense..
  12. Shirley you jest..
  13. I beg to differ..
  14. As Phil says, the only part that doesn't see filtered oil in the system is the pump. The bug screen filters out the big chunks, but..
  15. I tried that with my Daytona (same basic set up). It did not work out well, there was too much oil loss. I wanted it to work as I had issues with the spine frame leaking oil due to poor welding. So I wanted to be able to vent the motor to a catch can like a typical roadrace bike. It did not work out well due to the high amount of oil that was in the air being pumped out. I think it has the whole oil separator set up in the spine frame because it needs a way of separating out the oil from the air. Other big block Guzzi motors have also used a system that separates the oil from the air in a tank. You just need something of sufficient volume. You can also use a media like stainless steel wool to help. But you still have to provide a path for the oil to flow back into the sump. I actually like the Guzzi system, except when the frame is not welded properly and leaks / drips oil. Perhaps your results will be different. What you could use is a catch can type arrangement in the line thats designed to function as a gravity trap. Oil enters and leaves from the top of the can on its way back to the sump and all the contaminants have the time and space to settle to the bottom of the small receptacle where they can periodically be removed. Ciao I like that..
  16. I have had Pit Bull front and rear stands since before the turn of the Century. I had to mod the pin on the front stand for the Centauro, but it fits the V11S, too. Unfortunately, I can't use the rear because of the plastic covers on the swing arm.
  17. Unless I'm missing something.. the TPS is reset manually on that model.
  18. I'd call that a little more than an incident..
  19. Diesel smells good... even better than used gear oil. Damning with faint praise there.. Scud.
  20. Love is blind, they say. Some times the things we put up with would try the patience of Job. It's worth it.
  21. Unfortunately, I've gotta agree, Pete.
  22. That's a beauty all right.
  23. ^^^ This. West side of Michigan, U.P. drone across the plains, etc. If you need a stop here in flyover country, give us a ping.
