  1. Well, I'm too cheap (Guzzi content) to dump the oil and look. I just filled it a month or so ago. Just the same, it doesn't look anything like post #36. All Guzzis not the same?? Shirley, you jest.
  2. Certainly no sealing involved..
  3. Hmm, memory didn't fail me this time. I thought i remembered an AN type fitting, and that's what the Mighty Scura has.. 2018-11-30_12-42-28 by Charles Stottlemyer, on Flickr

    Hi Everybody!

plus 2 on the welcome back..
  6. Hey, buddy.. that got a blower on it??
  7. Sure.. we need pictures..
  8. ^^^^ Yeah, the V4 is the only other engine I'd consider if I had to. Fortunately, I don't have to..
  9. Gentlemen don't motor about after dark..
  10. Ok, I have the HF tire changer. It's useless "unless" modified. The lever will scratch your rims, as will the method of holding the wheel. There is a company that makes a "Mojo lever" and "Mojo blocks" for the HF changer that are necessary, IMHO. Naturally, I looked at a picture, and since I have lots of Delrin laying around, made my own. With that stuff, it will do as good a job as the high priced spread. I also have concrete anchors in the floor so I can bring in the changer and lag it down. Tire changers eat up a lot of space, and the HF is easily portable. There *is* a learning curve with any of them, though.
  11. I've never seen one, but I *assume* it's a billet pump with bearing. The factory pump runs unbushed in the case. Depending on your luck of the draw.. it will be a good fit, and run for a long time. If it is just a *little* loose, it will let the pump gear wobble. Get the picture? Wobbling aluminum gears? At any rate, it will wear, causing the same effect. At the least, the factory pump needs to be bushed sooner or later. "Feeling lucky, punk?"
  12. I have the home made "special tools" if you decide to jump in the pond, Al..
  13. I put 42000 miles on a Centauro. Rode it all over the country. The WP suspension is fine. The engine is more torquey than a 2 valve. That said, Parts are no longer available for the suspension. Many top end parts aren't available, either. The oil pump runs unbushed in the casting, and will need to be addressed, as will the aluminum timing gears. What 68C found was typical. When I first test rode one, I wondered if it would make it back to the dealer. (!) The one he rode was not set up properly either. I've always said the reason they assembled them was to make sure you had all the parts. It was very much a kit bike. It took me fully 2 years to get rid of that last little hiccup, but cemented my love for the Spine frame bikes.
  14. Yep. Gives you something else to think about other than wishing for spring.
  15. Original poster has not been back on since the week of the original posts a year and a half ago . . . I hate it when people do that stuff. Post a problem, get their answer, leave. No thank you, etc. much less throw a couple of bux at the forum.
  16. What Docc says..
  17. Those Titaniums are sweet sounding exhausts..
  18. Now, there's a blast from the past. It's probably been 20 years since I've had Theakstons.
  19. They deserve talking about. After all, they are the last of the *real* Guzzis..
  20. First, I'm not a painter, but I can paint. A little. My Kid taught me well.. I'm *guessing* the RM is a base coat with a "candy" coat over it. Sure, it can be duplicated by someone with a good eye. The scanner Al is talking about will get you close, but it takes someone with an eye to get it perfect. Normally, it's a woman. Without women, there wouldn't be any colors like puce.. Decals are easy with photographs, vinyl cutters for either paint masks or stick on. The KId found this Spot laying on it's side on the floor of a barn, crashed. He repaired, painted, and made the Spot decals, etc. 2016-08-03_05-31-54 by Charles Stottlemyer, on Flickr
  21. Gotcha.. it's silk thread. Red is hard to find..
  22. Real gaskets stop leaks on aircraft engines with their flimsy stamped valve covers. I've used them for years. The screws holding them down not only don't need to be tight.. they *shouldn't* be tight. Just snug em up.
