Blessing of the tie-downs

I once trailered my 1200 Bandit to the Ozarks. I rented an open ramp UHaul. Anyway, packing up, my fellow riding buddies decided put some extra torque on the straps. When I rode the bike again, I noticed the ride height was little low. Even had the tire changed out at a local shop. The bike was still noticeably low. So a week or so later I serviced the chain. I noticed the rear spring was broken when I saw a piece of a broken coil hanging in what was left of the intact spring. Must've ridden it a month. True. -
Partly sunny with a chance of sky ice.

So far as hail damage, size is a factor for damage but I find the wind to be the real culprit. -

Hail? Funny story, a few years ago the Mrs and I were riding the EV on the Highway of Legends in SE Colorado. We made a clockwise loop starting from the SE going west then north to Walsenburg and south to Trinidad. We got a some hail northbound and headed south, caught it again on I-25. Luckily it was no bigger than ice cubes. Luckily, didn't accumulate on the roads. -

I had the exact bike on the right, down to the color, but not the girl. -

For sure I make typos all the time. I can plead double guilty now since I had cataract surgery and was nearly blind (half blind now). If I couldn't see a red line under my text, I can't read it. Just touch typing. I hope I get over this because I can't drive or ride. I've been warned it could take 4 weeks. Yesterday, I thought it might be permanent. Anyway, I'd rather go to the bar. -

Superhawk (250 or 305?). A local rider has several classics, most that he either restored or cleaned up some bar finds. He's got all three models of 305s, Dream, Scrambler and Super Hawk. The Hawk was in a class of its own as far as engineering and build. It's also a convertible where the controls can be adjusted and set back, it's really a bike that could easily be converted to the track and commuter the rest of the time. The Speedo/Tach is really cool. This guy also has Bridgestone 175, Vespa, Yammie 650 KR street tracker and modern Yammie 950 v twin. -

Needs to order a new output shaft seal. I'm told it's a common part (?).

Just a follow up. The transmission is back together and sealed up. Hope to get it installed and rideable soon... I suppose I can hope for next week.

Hint, next time you Google something, at the end of your request put "-AI" in the text. Just guessing, but the text looks like the typical AI write up that gets the basics mixed up but appears authoritative. I've gotten quite annoyed with hit and miss silly answers and trivia. AI doesn't "think" or "understand", it just sticks words together based on sorting algorithms and decision trees.

Just a follow up on TTB and the Church Studio from a Derek Trucks interview. 10 years ago, the band did a tribute concert to the Mad Dogs and Englishmen record and movie. The tribute included TTB plus several guest stars and members of the original band including Leon Russell (Cocker had passed away). Like the orginal, the tribute concert was recorded and filmed. I mentioned that TTB was at the studio before the concert. The big deal is they ran a special screening of the tribute movie at the Studio. Invitation only event. Nothing sent to me on the Studio Newsletter. Anyway. if you're a fan of the original MDE or TTB, the tribute movie or record might be of interest.

Perhaps marketing potential but not a lot of product. -

The Vincent needed a start cart. A local rider has a NorVin with Rollie Free cams. It's almost impossible to foot start. Being in his 80s, he doesn't try anymore as he was explaining after attending the Texas Norton meet several years ago. -

I read that Guzzi will be selling a 450 parallel twin version of the Aprilia. Now a cafe version of the big Tuono would be icing on the cake. -

I used to play on one like this at Grampa's farm. He liked Internationals and thought Deeres were too expensive. -
Here's a little follow up on the Tedeschi Trucks show in Tulsa. Tulsa is an historic music town and great riding destination. It's home to the Bob Dylan and Woody Guthrie Centers. Also home to The Church Studio established by Leon Russell in the '70's. Tulsa and the studio had lots rock stars at the time, Leon, JJ Cale, Geo Harrison, Clapton, Dylan, Mudcrutch (Tom Petty), The GAP Band, Bread, The Tractors, Teagarden & Vanwinkle. We took the tour of the Church, still a working studio, museum and small concert venue. We were told that Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks were there the day before. We saw The Greyhounds (a duo out of Austin) in the board room. They'd performed the encore the night before with Susan and Derrick.

Saw TTB at my favorite venue, The Tulsa Theater. They performed two sets, the show was three hours. "Soul Sweet Song" was a tribute to Kofi Burbridge, their original keyboardist and flutist. I got this photo, then they projected images of passed bandmates and musicians, Kofi, Gregg Allman, Dickey Betts, inspirations like Leon and BB King. I'll share a story. Three(?) Years ago Kofi was on stage with Susan Tedeschi working out an arrangement before the show started. He missed the previous tour due to illness. I yelled "welcome back Kofi". He gave a small bow with folded hands. The encore that night was just Kofi & Susan performing "A Song For You". That's the last show that I saw him. His brother Otiel played with the band and now plays bass for Dead & Co.

You probably don't remember me whining that my car got broadsided from a gal playing with her phone, running a stop sign and hitting me in the right rear as I was exiting the intersection. It was in the shop for 3 months but is cosmetically and mechanically good to go.

All I meant to do was a make a joke about records vs electronic media. I intended to post a recent Doonesbury cartoon that I remembered and thought would be funny. The link was the only image that I could find on the 'net. I didn't see the other links your cite and don't see them now. Anyways, apology. I don't like as you describe political bullshit or wankers as well. So we're in agreement.. (You might not notice that I've generally refrained from posting music here for the reasons you've cited. I made an exception for the passing of Sly and Brian.)
