  1. definitely will be an annual tradition.
  2. Made the Ozarks trip. The bike ran like a freight train. I haven't checked the tranny leak since I left but it ain't dripping on the floor. Shock rebuild worked good; that and playing with fork helped dampen the "weave". Previous owner was there with his Spot, he mentioned that he couldn't get rid of the "weave" with bags on. The weave was much better even up to 80 around semis and was pretty steady at 90+ for brief moments with no traffic. 34lb in the front tire. It's not perfect but better. I am not sure what problems I had with this bike before I made the trip but it ran strong all the way and wanted more.
  3. Had a great time. Most rode their own rides. Weather -perfect, traffic -light, and roads -fantastic. four spine frames (counting the Spot) three Norges one V7 one 1400 Cali plus Kaw 14 and Suzi SV Too good to be described and too tired to describe it. The SV got a Ticket (15 over) and I got a Warning (1-15 over) States represented were Okla, MO, Wisc, Indy, Fla, TX, KS (and on one from Ark)
  4. yep, you're right. I thought it was plastic because the weep made it look dark. I have tranny drip that's congregated there. It looks like the leak has returned.
  5. it appears to be the seal across from where item 12 rides (selector) in the case. It's ride above the N sensor. http://www.harpermoto.com/parts-by-motorcycle/2000-up-moto-guzzi-motorcycles/v-11-le-mans-sport-naked-1100-2001-2002/gear-box-selector-en-v11-lemans-sport-naked-2001-2002.html
  6. sorry Docc, but can't tell by this. it's a rubber plug, maybe an inch (or half inch) above the sensor.
  7. dunno if the bezels are available or not. If they are, I suppose you could cut the old one with a dremel or hacksaw and throw it away. I know that someone on WG actually cut the metal cup into two and soldered it back together.
  8. I checked it again and I suspect there is a little leak from the tranny. It's congregating around the little rubber plug above the Neutral sensor. I don't know it if it's coming through the plug, above it or just residual from the last cleanup. It's too light to tell if it's motor oil or tranny pink.
  9. Make sure it rattles before you go to the bother of taking it apart. Otherwise it's wasted effort (although someone did solder the windings). There was a step-by-step picture thread on WG. Get a hose clamp to tighten around the speedo case close to the bezel. Get a paint can opener and file it off so that it's very thin and sharp at the tip so you can work it under the bezel. Then just keep at it until you can pry it off. If you break the glass, any glass shop should be able to cut you another one. Once you get it open, glue the counterweight on with epoxy. When you reassemble, use some soap around the rubber seal and keep twisting. This is probably more difficult than taking it apart. My guess is that Levine would probably do this if it only needed the counterweight reattached. The bezel is a booger bear but you have nothing to lose.
  10. 2000 rpm governor. built in safety feature.
  11. I'm thinking that may depend on which way The Spanking goes . . . Sorry, you aren't on WG. If I get spanked, I would provide Krylon paint (orange) to paint that Scura. ($2.99 Walmart) (pink?)
  12. what? Is Chuck buying a round? (Guzzi content)
  13. it's only a days ride, c'mon down.
  14. I found the N sensor. There was a little bit of oil dripped on it. I think it was oil from the breather cleanup, didn't look pink. I snugged the connector on the sensor and the light didn't flicker again on the way back home. Got home and cleaned up the drip.
  15. I might need a head start and load you with 40lb deadweight I am REALLY scared
  16. Kevin, this board and the wild guzzi board are the ones to be on, And my all means they really need another Kevin over on the other one. Once you're over there, you'll know why. http://wildguzzi.com/forum/index.php
  17. The time that it happened didn't appear to be due to the sidestand as much as leaning the bike onto it. Keeping the bike upright and it idled fine. Tipping it over to the stand and it would begin to cut out like it was running out of gas and then die. I did it a few times. Then went into the house to get my gear off and back to trace it the problem it didn't reoccur. And then it hasn't happened again. But the flickering continues when I ride a few miles. Test ride since have been good.
  18. I really don't care about the neutral light. Sure I'll try to fix it. My bigger concern is being stranded due to some electrical demons. None of these issues are consistent. They N light might be unrelated but coincidental.
