Eighteenth (XXVIII) South’n Spine Raid 2022

Hi Scott! beaver nuggets would certainly change my outlook on life. -

I followed your advice and added to it. I have the std ground from batt to tranny, then a second wire, same gauge goes from the tranny bolt to a point on the frame, and a third (duplicate of the battery grnd) from the frame point to the R/R case. So basically same gauge wire from the battery to the R/R, stopping off at 2 points. All scraped and scrubbed and DeOxit'd, with soldered connectors. I'm with ya maybe it doesn't do much but when you're talking about "maybe it's grounded and maybe it's not," then maybe over kill is in order.

Great to see you here again PaulM. and happy you are well. Are there any more details on the "other offset triple clamps were part of it" as in - were there two different triples for the early red frames?

Video presentation of the 2022 Michelin Road 6 and Road 6 GT;

Exactly. While traveling I stopped into a reputable BMW/Euro bike shop in Denver to have a set of tires installed and oil change. Luckily I pulled in for lunch about 30 mi down the road. In turning the behemoth K1200rs around in the gravel lot I heard a rattle. The front caliper bolts were coming out! The body panel fasteners had not been snugged! WTf? I was far too angry to go back but I had to call them. Truth told, reputation or not, you're at the mercy of whoever actually does the work, often a contractor who may or may not possess a sense of responsibility. I do everything I can, myself (+forum) and anything I cannot do goes, for now, to Cadre Cycles Cincinnati, just because their good character is so obvious, and the shop sound was tuned to Hank Williams radio. -
Started with a '97 and shed 116lb. There's still some life left in the old spine frames. Looks great too.

If one replaces the factory single plater with the NLA RAM 6speed single plater, the existing rod and bearing are in the bike already and will work. Replacing the factory single plater with the available RAM single for 5speed works as KINDOY2 points out. Replacing the factory single with the factory dual plate clutch is covered somewhere in past forum threads. IIRC the whole stock 6speed dual plate set up is used. So yes, you would not use the push rod from the single plate if going with dual. There is a difference in the distance between the clutch slave and the clutch plate spring cup. Someone help confirm please. FWIW I've measured the clutch actuating rod from my parts bike, a 2003 dual plate.. It measures 203mm, 8mm from cup end to step down at slave end which is 6mm. I don't have a length for the oem single plate rod. Maybe someone has one out.

Yes that's spring that breaks. that thread gives some early forum history of the problem and contains a link to the roadside repair as well FreyZ1 ... if the spring under the seat has only one coil then it's another one to not be trusted. 2 coils and it's the new improved spring. Owners who had not yet replaced theirs, often carried an extra to ward off bad ju ju and have one handy in case of emergency need.

I use a tool my Dad made for the job ages ago. An ice pick, which he heated and bent the tip in a small 90deg bend, about 1/4". Proving once again... Dad's are great!, and manage to help out long after they're gone.

2000-2001 v11 sport Seat cowl differences?

Tenni cowel? where'd that get off to? -
No opinion on rake angle but... It seems that some of the earliest of the V11 Sport used at least the upper plate from the old SportI because my early '00 has the 01493100 plate. I wouldn't call it gunmetal grey but it's obvious how this could happen. One 'could' deduce from this list that there are 3 possible upper plates for the 2000 sport. The early 01493100 that is on mine, the 3130 and 3131 listed for 2000 (there was nothing defining the difference of these two besides price) And take into consideration how screwed up parts catalogs can be. I used Harpers fiche and pricing 98-00 V11 Sport/Mandello 01493131 $121.18 01493130 $240.92 01493140 black 96-99 SportI 01493100 gunmetal grey $200.92 01493101 light color $200.92 01-02 V11 LM/Sport 01493160 $547.50

I think it's a Duc 750/900 ss fairing, not a magni. But it's mounted well with and std bar height. Looks good. Wonder what he used for a bracket. The black wheels look good with silver. Not sure about the cans, maybe added to modernize it? The guy's narrative is a turnoff for me. Nothing against the bike, I just never liked hyped salesman antics...it always seems to accompany premium pricing. lol... I spent an hour last night scanning listings for Gootsie... what have I become

THE GUZZI !!! HOW MUCH FOR THE GUZZI ?!?

I have posed the same question to myself on occasion. The Tenni means too much to me to put a number on her. I know the value of her without the attachment but it's irrelevant. To such a query I would say... make me an offer. If it was silly money, I would accept it. I'd be silly not to. Pretty much what Scud said. I'd be interested in anybody's GB -
ooooo nice. and it'll hold more than 3 kg
