Prior to replacing all with Omron, (no failures yet- low use) I used GEI. I had 1 (#5) fail with about 600 mi usage. They are sealed and I believe I got them from a forum member or link. My other failure, also #5, was a Siemens. Another forum member, bikeseamus, here in Indiana, gave much praise to Panasonic. If I ever get low (lol I have a dozen or more GEI and Omron) I will try them. I met bikeseamus a couple years ago at a vintage meet. He rode in on the only other V11 LM I've seen in Indiana. A nice Rosso Corsa. I seem to recall him saying it once belonged to another Hoosier. Maybe Chuck?

$4k for a lo mile good condition '02 is a good deal. Especially if you have some confidence in the ownership, and it's nearby. You won't be "stealing" it but it's a fair price. The bubbled paint on an '02 is not a big deal. Easy to correct, or better yet, forget about. You will be somewhat lucky to find an equal condition '03-'04 for anywhere near that. It could happen though, so good luck.

The rearward angle and the downward angle won't change with the MPH. That is a plus for my grip style and feel. Only upward and rearward distance changes... for the better IMO. I think you'll be pleased with them. Let us know your impressions.

yes indeed it is time. I took advantage of the sale at HF and got a new lift. Have not even put it together. Will do this Sat. Bike goes on and then I can start looking at it. God knows how long this job will take. Never done anything this involved on a bike I liked so much. Was there a difference in actuating rod length? Any other odd ball install niggles? Tell me it was a swap and go. Yes I will borrow special tools if needed please... Scura - Tenni talk yup

#5 has failed me twice. both times after hot run, shut off, and restart (attempt) after 10-15 min. Not Omrons. Both times, thanks to this site, I had extras with me.

Yes everyone Should have a 4wd truck! My keep forever Sierra Denali was t-boned this past spring and I was in a crunch to replace it, so I bought the ex-wifes 2010 Jeep Commander. I want to keep it (it's a Hemi:)), but need another truck. I like the idea of an older, good condition Ford. Like yours Scud, but not a crew cab (just me). Did you say that was a 7.3 Diesel? Manual Trans? I respect your research and would be curious of your motor choice considerations. Motor is everything with a truck choice imo. I had a 2000 7.3 f250 auto, and liked the torque but not the giddy-up, or the fuel mileage.

Wow,. were they touring or is that where they live? I saw BAT 7 hanging in a guy's shop in South Bend IN in 1988. Yes, Hanging! Friend of a friend. He finally sold it years later to someone in California, where it was restored. I'd LOVE to see them in person.

On this subject..... What IS the best hose clamp. In some instances I use the typical 3 prong spring clamp. They don't always provide confidence inspiring security. For more secure connections I use the common screw clamp. They have a tendency to cut into the hose. Then there is the bent wire/bolt nut clamp. Hard to find in good sizes and even then are bulky. I've often thought of using those factory one time clamps, but never end up researching the process. I wonder what airplane builders use???

Honestly, you'll have to put in some time on it to know for sure how you'll be affected. More directly, you're a good size for this bike, but depending on your personal comfort needs. If you were small of stature, I'd say the LM is somewhat of a reach to the bars. If you're not used to clip-ons, your arms and neck will get sore until you are. The Tenni was my first sport style bike. Like you, I could not resist it. Coming from an upright riding position, my 'cruiser' buddies would remark regarding the sporting ergos, "man, that looks uncomfortable", and the old "monkey f@@king a football" comparisons. When it comes to my body, any riding position for an extended time makes something on me sore. When I toured upright, my back hurt and I leaned forward, ala crotch rocket, to get relief. Touring leaned forward caused neck pain and I would periodically sit up for relief. (as you will see many sport riders do) The LM, for me (6'0"-175#), is a perfect combo of sport and standard. The fairing creates an envelope, at the speeds I like to ride, which allows me a fairly comfortable, lengthy ride. All the while, the bike emitting the Guzzi stuff that makes the universe complete. Any bike you love can be made to "fit" IMO. In case you didn't know, fit wise, the stock 03 LM has the same ergos as the Tenni. Trying it on for size may be helpful. If you are referring to the heads as potentially fowling your knees, they do not. Our tallest members may have a comment. My good friend (6'3") rode mine and his only complaint was knees. His are going bad. That can be fixed with previously suggested foot peg lowering brackets.

I had a used RM alm flywheel in my hands this past summer. It had no markings on it and looked, from what I can tell, exactly like the oem alm one in the photo provided by Scud. It had no damage, but appeared to have tiny casting flaws that 'could' develop into something. The flaws were on the outer rim area, not the center as most fractures.

would that be the Angel ST, or GT's Chuck? I used Road Attacks on my K1200rs and liked them a lot. Is the "kid" on the forum/pics of the Spot? We like Spots!
