I have no wish to perform this other spring upgrade as it's so involved. I have about 15k on my 2003, am I destined to be forced to do so? As I read through this thread, it seemed it may be so. I did not find any recommendation to your post; I am one of those who experienced the pawl spring let down. It happened around my home base; I was really lucky. I ordered a three coils pawl spring but did not install it. I instead installed a Guzzi part one, with only two coils. The original one that broke did not at the coils. You can go back into this thread, I have posted pictures. I am running a fatigue test, and monitoring the mileage before the spring breaks again. I have set the limit to 15,000 miles. Maybe I will push it to 20,000 miles. 1
gstallons Posted February 12, 2024 Posted February 12, 2024 Don't worry , something else will let go and make you forget all about this problem 1 5
rydfly Posted April 16, 2024 Posted April 16, 2024 @Scud if you have any remaining springs, I’m in need of one as mine broke last weekend. I’ve sent you a PM with my contact details. Thank you! 1

audiomick Posted May 15 Posted May 15 I just tried to send Scud a PM, as I understand that he is the "Custodian of the Spring", but the forum told me he is "unable to receive messages". So hallo @Scud, or anyone else who has one of the springs available: a chap in a German forum would like one. Are there any available? 1

audiomick Posted May 15 Posted May 15 Ok, thanks Phil. I'll be in touch in the next couple of days. Off to work right now...
Scud Posted May 15 Author Posted May 15 My mailbox was at 100%, so I just purged it. I do still have a quite a few springs. 2

It was specifically and expertly designed and tested by our treasured member @Chuck and diligently produced and stocked by @Scud (The Keeper of the Springs ). The entire re-engineering backstory is on the 59 pages of this thread. Accept no substitutes. 3 1
gstallons Posted May 15 Posted May 15 I KNOW I have two somewhere on this latitude and longitude . I jus' don't know where ?
audiomick Posted May 15 Posted May 15 I know where mine is (not in the bike yet), but I'm not giving it up.
docc Posted May 16 Posted May 16 Just to follow up, when you install the Chuck/Scud SuperSpring, be certain to take time and perform the Lucky Phil "Shift Improvement" . . . And, be sure to clean, shim, grease and adjust the Rube Goldberg external shift mechanism . . .
