It's the first new offering to interest me since seeing the Tenni -
The "X" madness has contaminated motorcycles?!
footgoose replied to p6x's topic in Special place for banter and conversation
I think they're going for eXtreme. 'Yer not just a bad dude, yer a really bad dude.' Secondarily, it can mean whatever the potential buyer want's it to mean. An optional identity. "s" has played out, no? -
I bought this 3 days ago https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00GD49GTS?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details

Hollywood has always been out of touch with the 'common' folk in society, and their depictions of such have always missed the mark, especially if they have a bone to pick with the segment portrayed. I hope this is not the case and it's just a gangster movie - with motorcycles. This looks good and I certainly look forward to seeing it (when it's free) for the story, the set, and those gorgeous vintage Harley's. Hoping for some trick riding scenes, and no agenda.

Getting back on a V11. Things I should know.
footgoose replied to DucatiGuzziIndian's topic in 24/7 V11
Welcome. A couple quick thoughts.. Handling: I've owned both frame lengths and can attest to the short/red frame handles considerably better. That said, it no longer interests me to push my limits on tight twisty roads, and the later long frame is great for me. I found no twitch or unsettling handling aspects with my red frame. Staintune 'alleges' no tuning necessary when using their cans. IDK for sure. I do know you'll eventually want a more open can. Electric gremlins are a concern but easily sorted once found. As with any 22 y/o bike, how it has been stored would be a top concern for myself if I were looking. Weak and deteriorating connections are negatively impacted by corrosion, and I would avoid a 'crusty, rusty, left outside' example. Even with a good clean find, I'd recommend attending to every connection. The Roper, or slosh plate is a small investment with a potentially large payoff. Just get one. Green is good. -
I rather like the black CF mud guard Phil. This bike pictured with blacked side body panels and muffler hangers has a good look, and could maybe provide some 'black' balance. Whatever you do your bike will be like a woman who could wear anything and always be beautiful.

I got one of the last 3 that MGCycles offered. Scud, myself, and (forgot who* else) got on a wait list and eventually received them. The GU01211640 hub came with the kit, as seen in the photo. It is the same as the oem in the Tenni. I re-used the original. * might have been @craigsinclair that got the other one? I recall a member doing the 5 speed RAM kit successfully and posting about it. ??

I'll say it again. Use the hub from the Scura.

If this is the hub you got from MG it IS for a 6 speed but for use or conversion to a dual plate assembly. https://www.mgcycle.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=193&products_id=5222 The RAM assembly that is sold for a 5 speed is intended to convert the std dual plate assembly to the lighter single. So it would include the hub and cup to accommodate the 5 speed actuating rod, which differs in diameter and (maybe) length to the one in your Scura. Confused? Me too

and this

The clutch hub you need is GU01211640. This is the hub that came with the RAM kit for 6 spds, which was discontinued because they ran out of oem hubs and couldn't source them (we think). That hub was already used in oem Scura/Tenni assemblies, so use the one from your Scura. I think (but not sure) the one MG sold you was for a 5 spd. What I am unsure of in your case is the actuating rod length and it's compatibility with the spring actuating cup. Pretty sure the Scura rod and cup will work. I purchased one of the last RAM 6 spd kits and the GU01211640 hub came with it.

Is the roof kit a Ford accessory or other? I see the Cinnamon Pass sign. Did you get into Ouray? -

Well played adventure Dave. And a really nice rig. -
I hate when that happens. Could you make something like this work? https://www.amazon.com/kkone-Headlight-Retaining-Headlamp-2007-2018/dp/B07BH35PTM/ref=asc_df_B07BH35PTM?tag=bngsmtphsnus-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=80539344142740&hvnetw=s&hvqmt=e&hvbmt=be&hvdev=c&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=&hvtargid=pla-4584138871966253&psc=1 And what sort of LED pilot bulb did you use?

We can trust AI right? I searched my IPhone photos for art. Out of about 1500 pics it chose 45 as art. Most were rooms with paintings hanging. A bunch of dog faces (I approve) and a couple of my house. One motorcycle. Maybe it liked the red squares. idk. Settled science. Anyone have a Chat GPT account? It's a useful and interesting feature though possibly overly OCD. While typing the search a prompt appeared for Arthropod - 1 It selected a squashed brown wooly worm I photo'd.
