Hello All, It is with sadness that I am selling my 2000 V11 Sport. It's a good bike. It is running well. I just don't ride it much these days and want to clear out some space, and not let it simply gather dust. It's just shy of 13K miles. It has a Roper sloppage pate installed. As well as an upgraded reg/rect unit. I've adjusted the acorn transmission nut and the transmission shifts without misses. Only issues are the Veglia tach indicates wildly and will need repair or replacement (was like this when I bought the bike), there's a leak from the transmission that drips onto the x-over, and the left bar end is loose and fastened with some friction tape inside the bar. I'd like to sell it to someone who knows about these bikes and won't chop it out or otherwise destroy it. Open to offers from people from this forum. The bike is in central Los Angeles. Also includes a TPS breakout harness and rear stand. $4000 OBO3 points

Again... I don’t really disagree.... well maybe a little, but logic is unlikely to deter me. After all, I’m the guy who put a Vincent engine in a Honda GL500 Interstate. In other words, I have no shame, so a V11 powered hack isn’t beyond the realm of possibility. Besides..... as you so aptly put it, think of all the beer you could haul.3 points

The video doesn’t do it justice. The sound is very nice from the carbon cans. I have had Fast by Feracci carbon, MG Ti and regular exhausts and the Exan is at the top for me(fit and finish also). The video was shot when I installed the exhaust and usually keep the db silencers on as I like my ear drums😬. Here you go… https://youtube.com/shorts/EGO1HIrLuUI?feature=share2 points

This. Hooking up a V11S to a chair would be like hooking up a Ky derby horse to the Budweiser beer wagon.2 points

I keep a couple of live traps in the garage, baited with chocolate. I like the bucket trap! What a great idea. We have a female cat who brings home various parts of rats, gophers and birds just about every day. I don’t like to see the birds, but have no pity for the rodents. When we moved in here—and old lathe and plaster house—rats were running around inside the walls every night. After a couple of weeks the cats put an end to that. Living on an orchard property, I always keep a female cat around (sometimes two) . They are evolutionarily perfected hunters, and sweet pets, too.2 points

Yes.... agreed, but I have the V11 already and it has sufficient grunt to haul a car around. Although I have a lathe, mill, MIG and TIg.... as much as it pains me to buy stuff, I would cough up the funds to buy the mounting hardware, just to avoid any drama and save time. There are a couple of knowledgeable (nutters)locals to help set it up. Assuming I actually get around to doing anything about it.... most of the bikes use would be on a small island where the posed speed limit is 50kmh. Not a glamorous ending for a V11, but at least I wouldn’t have to worry about picking it up... just focus on avoiding hedges.2 points

A female cat . They are mousers . The only things Toms do is mark territory & hump female cats . BTW , they don't pull out . Sticky traps are the most effective , but they catch EVERYTHING2 points

Swapped my intake vacuum-tap caps from "rubber" to silicone. I've had the rubber ones dry out, get loose and give running issue fits. I figured them for 5mm ID, but the caps came 5mm OD. Cut to length, and a little P-80 Emulsion "Temporary Rubber Assembly Lubricant," and they feel snug. Guess I should watch they don't squirt themselves off into a parallel universe. Hoping that the silicone caps stand up better (indefinitely?) to the heat cycling . . . (Take-offs into the Monkey Paw Spares Bag).1 point

Does the garage have an engine hoist? After a ride that far, I’d need assistance getting off the bike. I was thinking more along the lines of..... ride 10 minutes from my house to the ferry, another 5 minutes when the ferry arrives at the island.... followed by intermittent rides to drag supplies back to the cabin. The 50 km speed limit on the island and a good steering damper would keep wobbles down to a minimum. anyway... thanks for the invite, it sounds like fun.1 point

Life happened and haven't ridden the 04 V11 Lemans since last October. Fired it up last night and it ran perfectly with big fan for cooling on it. Was walking back behind it and noticed a lot of debris on the garage floor. Looked closely and it was sunflower seeds blown all over the floor. Swept up after running the bike and thought, what the heck, let's fire up the old 86 Lemans just for grins since I can't remember when I last ran it. Took some coaxing but it finally came to life and sounded great. Lo and behold scattered all behind it was a bunch of dog food. Creative mice must have been storing the seeds and dog food in the mufflers!. Will have to get a metal storage container to store the bird seed and dog food in.1 point

I got tired of replacing that stuff, and just set an unbaited mouse trap in front of the hole. The ones with big yellow pads.. I hate meeces.1 point

no not the switch but the sidestand not sitting on the switch properly all the time or actuating the switch. I don't have one on my bike, but i know on my griso there is an inch of play which can foul it from getting into its proper position.. anyway, was just checking and easy enough to check while riding, just kick the sidestand into the bike if its conking out.1 point

Hey guys, appreciate all the understanding and suggestions to mediate the critter problems. Have had 4 female cats as suggested and yes they were relentless varmint catchers. Laid their trophies at the door between the garage and house everyday. Unfortunately for them, the food chain here was their demise as coyotes readily eat cats and there are a lot of coyotes here. Will grab some mouse traps next trip in to town. Did find where the mice are coming in, one of roll up doors has about 2 inches of the rubber seal across the bottom chewed away.1 point

Sheesh, four months out and I am making no significant progress toward my "200.000 km" Centenary goal. Chipping away, though. I have a fresh rear tire in the wings, probably should get a front and go back into the shifter plate mechanism one more time. Maybe plugs, a valve adjustment, throttle body balance, you know: A Decent Tune-up/ guzzidiag . . . a compression test . . . check all those wheel bearings, the driveshaft U-joints, condition that battery . . . "Only forty-eight hundred" . . . "Maybe new rings. Also mufflers. A little wiring . . ."1 point

Go for it. I want to see it. Some say why, some say why not. Just make the hack as elegant as the bike already is.1 point

There is a place for your V11 at the South'n SpineRaid. We'll open a full garage space for your rig. And supply the ice . . .1 point

Maybe four bangs to the head . I would never do acid because I thought it would be like having sex w/a gorilla . I might want to stop before the gorilla .1 point

Fritz Egli built racing frames for several makes of Motorcycle. Famously so in the 70's, I think he still makes some.1 point

I’m not there yet, but I will say blunt head force trauma and 1 too many acid trips has effectively impacted my memory to some degree.1 point

Haven't lifted a spanner for the en-biggening of the motor yet but digging around in my 'Mountain of Munt' I did find the Tenni green bodywork and brown seat off one I wrecked out a while back so today I took off the boring black plastics, (except the front mudguard.) and played swapsies. Much better than boring black and baboon's arse red seat!1 point
