  1. Finally got to ride one. White Base Model. The bike rips and I only had it in T mode. I got it well over 90 criss crossing traffic in a couple of miles of city Interstate. Certainly faster than any Guzzi I've ridden. Didn't quite feel like a Guzzi, I didn't notice any torque dip with the throttle. The bike was little more upright -I could use a little more rear tuck with the pegs. It was stable in traffic, great pick up from the engine and sharp brakes. So far as handling, I didn't have a chance to run it in many curves, the riding position could be better IMO with a little more leverage for the pegs. No doubt that's a rider's preference deal. In tour mode those little wings deployed and the bike was stable in very strong sidewind. The owner told me that he could feel the difference when the active aero was on. I'd say the closest bike would be the Yamaha 900 sport tourer in feel and performance. The only thing I didn't like was chintzy header covers. They just gotten the Green one in presold.

  2. Well, each bike is different. The turn radii are different, rake, trail, wheelbase, everything comes into play. Especially when the exercises are conceived for a particular type of bike. In any case, I will let you know how it went. This is going to be a first for me, doing this type of exercises with a +500 lbs motorcycle.

  4. Hi All, FWIW, I still have my Lemans apart. The brand X metal core gasket (left) wouldn't fit properly, it wouldn't line up with cover holes and wouldn't lay flat when dry fit to cover. So, I bought a genuine Guzzi metal core gasket from a dealer and it is alot different from the brand X. The genuine Guzzi gasket is metal core too. Plus, it is corrugated somewhat (right), Has anyone used one of these and if so, did you use gasket sealer? Any special installation instructions that I should be aware of? Thanks, Art

  5. So, as pretty as the Moto Guzzi bolts are, cadmium plated, these nuts&washers (two days from McMaster-Carr) have a stunning black finish. That they look like powder coat is confirmed seeing they are Black Luster®, a Columbia Coatings powder coat product.

  11. Audiomick ....That's pretty cool & cheap! I'd still try swapping relays no matter what the test results because I have no self control or faith in gadgets (lol). However, I have to admit I bought a $25 digital battery/charging sys/starter tester that I'm pretty impressed with .... it was an ebay or amazon buy. Chuck... The Siemens relays will float, I packed them in a baggie in case one of my Guzzi riding buds has a failure on the road! Art

  12. Looks like Mr. McGregor is back in the V11 owners club, if the Tenni in the clip is from his personal collection. As his old #133 is still in Austin/TX documented in the registry, i guess he was lucky to find somebody willing to part from his piece of guzzi history.

  13. I've got a surplus speedo cable off my 2004 V11 having gone the Speedhut route. Got it from MG Cycle a few thousand mile ago and bent it a bit more to clear my throttle linkage. Works fine...replaced the gauge due to issues with the trip odo. Preference given to the first one that calls dibs AND shows up at Cedar Vale, KS next month for a hand-off. https://www.v11lemans.com/forums/topic/28546-cedar-vale-ks-spring-2023/

  14. Yeah, I still have it. From memory, a little different looking than the V11 tach, but no doubt works the same. The guy said they worked, but I have no method of checking the tach other than wiring it up to the tach output on my little homebuilt airplane, and that would involve taking off the center section cover, windscreen, hooking it up, putting that stuff back on, and starting the engine. No. Not going to happen. About all I could do is offer a money back garantee. Oh, and I have another speedo.. I'm an antique airplane guy, and when I see something I think I might need on an antique machine, I buy it. At least I used to. I'm in de-acquisition mode in my dotage.

  15. I suppose that my battle with the early Sport instruments led me to translate "Veglia" = "fragile" . . . As long as your #1/#2 relays check out, let's count on a replacement Veglia tach for your beautiful Sport. (I tried the usual ten page ebay search and didn't find one . . .)

  16. Regarding testing relays, a bloke in the German forum posted a link for a tester on e-Bay. I think it was this one. The price is not too steep, and if it does what it claims to, it might be a good bit of kit to have. I haven't got one (yet), so I can't say if it is any good or not. https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256803502236070.html?gatewayAdapt=glo2usa4itemAdapt&_randl_shipto=US

  17. Recent events here reveal how critical a forum's stewardship (plus diligence, persistence, expertise, and determination) [are] to preserving a forum. Jaap continues to stand over our flock by the gate. Glad to hear that Pete's persistence has paid off for the Griso community!

  18. I still like to read on paper, and I am subscribed to multiple magazines; I would like to suggest one which is exclusively dedicated to Moto Guzzi; all the articles are in both English and Italian. Published quarterly on qualitative paper. Here's a sample for your perusal. You can subscribe directly from their website. They also publish another Magazine exclusively dedicated to Ducati.
