  1. Strange... My experience, insofar, is individuals stopping their truck and parking to admire the gem and speaking to the owner. Rolling down the window to tell me they love the bike. Youngsters with pilioned girl friend on a 300 cc bike crossing roads and railways to talk to me. What I am missing are the 30 years old ladies getting an interest.... YET!

  4. GuzziDiag connected and worked fine and was very easy this time. thank you all for all the help. My CO trim was -11, Now at zero on the 2002 LeMans. Would -11 cause the bike to poorly? Do some bikes run better on the plus side of zero? I'll ride it on saturday.

  5. I found device manager on my computer. I then plugged in the FTDI cable and down loaded the program again. now when I plug in the FTDI cable, The device manager lists com port 3 under other devices. I will try the Guzzidiag again today.

  6. I had the case when I torqued these12.9 screws with 43Nm the joint was still a loose fit on the gearbox output shaft. To overcome this I cut the slot in the yoke some mm deeper. Works.... The flat headed screws are useless - they won't stand the torque to be applied.

  7. Task bar: the bar, most likely across the bottom of the screen if it hasn't been moved, that shows symbols for what is runnning, the clock over in one corner and so on. Windows icon: the button on the left one clicks on to go to a programm and open it, and shut down the computer, amongst other things. You might know it as "the start button". At least up till Windows 10, a right-click on that instead of a left-click opens a list that includes the device manager. Edit: apparently one can open the device manager using the "search" box that windows puts in the task bar if you let it. Here is a video made by the man who wrote Guzzidiag. You can see him type "geräte manager", or at least start to. On a computer set to show english, type "device manager" instead. https://www.von-der-salierburg.de/download/GuzziDiag/FTDI_Win10_Install.mp4 The Video is from the Guzzidiag website here: https://www.von-der-salierburg.de/download/GuzziDiag/

  9. brief shot of Mark Volman in there I think. (Mothers/Turtles) Flo & Eddie played at our club early 80's. Really fun, and funny guys. Took the piss out of Journey, while singing 'Happy Together' for stealing a base line.

  11. Save the site: https://guzzitek.org/ there is a very impressive collection of Guzzi workshop manuals, owners manuals and parts lists there. Navigating the site takes a bit of getting used to, but it is worth the effort.

  12. Just had another look at that ad for the Rosso Mandello. An old man who is selling because he is getting too old to ride it. Bought it from the first owner, his neighbour across the street. Attests to love the bike but "it needs a younger rider". At the very least, go an have a look at it. Sounds like a very good prospect to me.

  13. That's a great looking bike that seems to be in original condition. I think the RM has the best paint scheme of any V11. The rocker cover paint seems to fade to orange, and restoring the covers to that gorgeous red would be the only thing I would do. As for the clutch needing replacement, @cash1000 can tell you that the RMs don't have the problems of the later single plate clutch bikes.

  15. @docc Little Feat was all time fav band. I got to see them just after Columbus came out. I was familiar with most of the songs until I heard "A Day at the Dog Races". Saw a couple of later iterations, post Lowell. One memorable time at Forest Park in St Louis opening for the Allman's. The last time at Daytona Bike Week. Comparing FZ with LF sorta apples and oranges. I suppose I wasn't expecting FZ with such a tight band with so many breaks and changes with pro session guys, particularly given the previous Flo-Eddie era. I didn't know that Frank had such a jazz background and was orchestral composer. But I was expecting something similar to Apostrophe, I just didn't expect it to be so polished and tight. My fav live bands today at Tedeschi Trucks and hope to see the last Dead & Co. Both bands are masters of improvisation and great chops. TTB also like to bring in some of the members of the opening bands with them, like Los Lobos.

  16. This morning, I was driving the v11 to work I had a close encounter with a moose. I was stopped at a light behind a truck pulling a landscaping trailer behind a long line of cars. Saw a moose heading toward me down the street on other side of the road about 75 yards away. I had left some space between me and the trailer to locate the numerous pot holes in that stretch of road. Once it passed the truck and trailer it veered into the space I left in front of me. At this point I'm thinking remaining motionless is my best strategy. It got within 4-5 feet of me and went across road into the field and took off. I could hear its breath and smell it as it went by. Sorry it happened too fast to get a picture!

  17. Thank you @motoguzznix! That confirms all V11 have the 2-pin calipers, either Brembo P4 34/30 20.6800 or 20.9230 (I cannot tell the difference?) I should have my OE-type Brembo pads by tomorrow. I am expecting black backings and an organic compound. The pads are swimmingly easy to change, especially with the Sport on a lift. With good light. Near a coffee maker. With music playing . . .

  21. Yes, do that. As I wrote, the computer needs an internet connection to find the driver (but not for Guzzidiag to run once the driver is correctly installed). I'm going to bed now, it is after 4 in the morning here. I wish you success.

  22. Leave out Guzzidiag for a minute, and go and look in the Device Manager. You haven't said, but I am assuming you are using Windows 10. You can find the device manager by right-clicking on the Windows symbol in the task bar. Look at these two pages from Lonelec. They show generic information about Windows and dealing with drivers, not specific to their adapters. https://support.lonelec.com/pc-tech/finding-com-port/ https://support.lonelec.com/pc-tech/manual-driver-install/ With the information there, you should be able to see: if the correct driver has been installed, which Com port has been assingned to it or if the correct driver has not been installed, in which case you won't find a Com port that works with Guzzidiag.

  23. so far as sayin' who saw who... Yea, I saw Clarke's group, the opening act was the Dixie Dregs. This was at Trinity U in San Antonio in the early '80's. Also, to make me sound like a dweeb, Stanley said it was the first time they'd ever performed together. I had recordings of both artists. Had a great time. And all I remember is they blew me away.

  24. Would a pair of Centauro wheel fit right up on a V11? I have the C rims but no V11 to match up. And I don’t have parts book to check numbers.

  25. I can't load that photo and see what it looks like, but I did see the price. YIKES! As a result of research on this forum, I just recently picked up a small, sleek, 12 L Cor-Tech tank bag at less than 1/4 the cost for my V11.

  26. I agree with Marty. The red on the RM is the sexiest red paint,I've ever seen on anything. That RM is extremely well kitted;the retail price of the extras alone, in total;probably add up to the asking price.

  27. Wow! Very lucky! Looks like the Mandello is stable at high speeds, lol Kissing the pavement & buying a few lottery tickets might be in order Beautiful country you're riding in I don't have to dodge ice blocks here, deer & wild turkeys are my biggest dangers.

  28. Luck is defnetly useful. I know riding in some mountains this time of the year coud be exiting, look at my front fender. Blocks and pieces of ice at full speed down the mountain side. Oh yeah, managed to keep her upright, Luck. A twenty kg iceblock to the helmet woud have been bad Luck. New fender have been ordered. 1060km now. Allrounder is the word. I find myself riding faster with the V11, the 5-7k song comes to mind. Cheers Tom. Sent fra min SM-S906B via Tapatalk

  31. On my Quota I only installed progressive springs in forks & Mitas knobblies & travelled from the tops of the Atlas mountains & thru the sands of the Sahara & crushed an amazing GS into surrender on the Saharan sands There’s nowhere I wouldn’t go on a Quota I’m not in love with it like my Scura R - but I sure as hell admirably RESPECT it! This is the 1000 but the 1100es will do this equally well - (ahem) follow me Stelvio… 😊
