  1. According to the 2003 parts catalogue I am looking at: the barrel and throttle cable guide(?) come as a single part #01600761. Call the former owner to see if he kept the old stuff. If it is gone, price it from your local dealer. Check his parts books to see if this IS the correct part for your bike .
  2. After getting 50 candles on your birthday cake, you won't care about how fast you go on or in anything.
  3. I am joking ! I was checking to see if everyone was awake..............
  4. It's a special "cloaking device" so the law cannot catch him.
  5. Was this (RX2n)hard to incorporate onto your bike?
  6. Maybe you could heat it up with a torch and push in on the part that is bulging out too far?
  7. In the first clip, what is the music playing in the video? Is that your bike? What modifications have you done? I don't recognize the clip-ons, instrument cluster or lack of windscreen?
  8. As long as the battery is in a state of (continuous) charge I would NOT be afraid of riding it. The way batteries are manufactured now, they are good until (immediate) death.
  9. You have NOT ridden it since 12/07 ? What brand battery is it?
  10. let us know what happens. I have an 87 SE and it has the same carbs.
  11. It's obvious you've never ridden on Ky. roads? If you ride on anything less than pavement you will accumulate lots ofsand, silt and little rocks thrown up on the back of you and your bike.
  12. My buddy's 2000 red frame is aluminum, my 2003 Sport (I bought it used) is CF. The chin guard is an accessory part.
  13. This is a dry climate only modification! You will understand why those ugly and stupid looking things are draped over the rear tire when you ride in the rain or travel over wet surfaces. I trimmed mine to where it is flush with the bottom of the license plate. I wish it were back on there
  14. The garage is the "holy of holies". Nothing but the most important things go here.
  15. I should amend my statement with an asterisk. * you will not like going behind some clown who f****d up your prize posession or the idiots that designed something (nylon fuel line)25 mm too short.
  16. No patching.........If you don't feel froggy, take it to MPH. See if they will let you watch wile they fix it. The worst thing about MotoGuzzi is the fact they are the simplest bike being manufactured. You wiil (after you get over your fear) love working on this engine.
  17. Hylomar is some kind of goo made to RollsRoyce specs. for Rolls. It is a translucent blue fluid (?) that if applied to the gasket surface will you allow you to remove it(the part) without sticking to the mating surface. High-tack is a spray or liquid that will allow the gasket to be held in place to reassemlble the parts. CopperCoat is good for assembly also. If you feel confident in not using gasket, Yamabond or an anaerobic sealer made by Loctite is excellent to use. After looking at the engine block here in the shop I would use the Loctite red sealant sans gasket. It will require a perfectly clean (no oil) surface. Use a bead just large enough to say there is one and reassemble. There will be a small amount ooze out to prove you have a good application. The benefit to doing this is twofold: You didn't have to purchase a gasket and it will never work loose and leak. Hope this helps!
  18. when this goes back together I would recommend Hylomar ro K&W gasket sealer. These are the best products for reassembly if you do not like assembling with a dry gasket. I had one bad experience with silicone sealer on both sides of a gasket. It allowed (over time) the gasket to slide out of the mating surfaces and cause TROUBLE. Silicone sealant on the corners only.
  19. I assume by your text you do not know what brand they are and would like to know? The fuel cap is from Oberon. This is a good setup because you do not have to fiddle with a key to open. The drawback is fuel sprays out on to the tank. Ugh... you have to be slow filling it up. I would look on the Oberon site to see if these are their grips also.
  20. Was there not enough oil spray (from the crank, etc.) to lube the cam lobes?
  21. I don't know how the oil circulates through to feed the (hydraulic) lifters to keep them "pumped" up. I don't know what these holes (in the cam lobes)do? I do not have a manual here to give an oil feed circuit. Anyone else want to comment? It only has to last til 2012 any way. The world is coming to an end then.

I don't think so. for what it's worth. I had a fling with one woman 25 yrs. ago. We made love only 2 times. It was (I will steal the phrase from Hugh Grant) like love heroin. It was so good I wish i had never had it. This was better than making love to a nymphomaniac, epileptic mermaid while you were on the best cocaine ever made. I know how Odysseus felt or maybe he knows what I went through?
  23. Could you imagine being in a pile-up with tires like those?
