  1. Oh boy! A tire thread. Getcha some Conti RA3s. You'll be glad you did.
  2. Ok, that's 5. Anyone else want one?
  3. I *could* make some if Scud doesn't want to do another run, and there is enough interest.
  4. Absolutely. Sean used to work for him, and did the "modern" stuff. Josh works for him, now, and is a good mechanic but doesn't do computer either. I've talked to him about how easy it is, there are fewer and fewer bikes to work on when you don't work on computer bikes, but he's not interested. He's an old timey motorcycle mechanic with an old timey motorcycle shop.. and a *really* good guy. 2016-07-09_01-37-14 by Charles Stottlemyer, on Flickr
  5. Sean Fader is the best mechanic in SoCal. He had his own shop, RTL Moto.. but I *think* he's been hired by O.C. If so, there's your guy. Tell him I sent you.
  6. You *might* find a rattle can the right color.. dunno, but you can do a fine job with them if you do your part. I had to color match the AeroLario, (tail piece and one frame rail) and had $150 in chemicals. (!)
  7. I prefer the fly screen over the LeMans fairing. Mostly.
  8. Congrats.. and tell her to clean up the mess you made making dinner..
  9. If a manufacturing process isn't carefully controlled (we *are* talking Guzzi, here) nobody knows until things start failing in the field. Remember, this is a very small company with very little money.. and no reliability lab. This is much of the allure to me. They were making a *very* good motorcycle on a shoestring, and doing a good job.. mostly.. at it.
  10. I have some spare suspenders from being the oldest old fart on a Guzzi at the Ohio rally if you need some.
  11. I did essentially this except used an oxy acetylene torch, and it took 5 minutes. It works fine on the Mighty Scura and the Rosso Corsa when I had it.. but.. wouldn't work on the Kid's greenie.
  12. Back in the day, I had them joined on the Centauro.. many did. I tried just capping them off and didn't really see any change.
  13. ^^^ Yep, it'll probably run poorly. The Kid's (now LowRyter's) greenie was hard to ride when he first got it. The usual things made it into a strong runner.
  14. Here's the Mighty Scura at 38,000 miles..
  15. Like I said, don't worry, be happy. I've done all those roads over the years. I *love* mountains..especially the Rockies.
  16. We remove them and the 20 feet of hoses that cause vacuum leaks, and dispose of them in an environmentally correct manner. Plug the nipples the hoses were hooked to, and you're good to go.
  17. Kiwi Roy sez use Vaseline.
  18. Agreed. I've said many times, it's the last of the *real* Guzzis..
  19. No, this was a Molex connector.. or used to be.
  20. I really doubt the pump is failing. I'm betting it was the relay.. A little grease is normal. Don't worry, be happy.
  21. For whatever reason, it was starving of fuel. Wear your damn ear plugs or one of these days the ringing won't stop. Trust me on this. The manual petcock tends to stick, and it can take a wrench to move it off of open. Carefully, of course..
  22. There ya go..
  23. Absolutely. That just *may* be your low rpm running issue. Look for cracks around the throttle body clamps, too. Now that footpeg vibrating thing.. if it is the *right* peg, it's your U joint telling you to replace it.
  24. I would imagine that once you do a good tuneup, it'll be fine. Suspension? I don't know what bike you have, but I'd think supple would be a good thing. The footpeg buzzing is no doubt the throttle bodies being out of sync. See tuneup. If I were a betting man, I'd bet it'll make it.
  25. The 02s and onward are doable. The Kid said he couldn't grease the U joint on his red frame V11, so I tackled it with a grin. I couldn't do it, either.. Yeah, you're going to have to pull the wheel.
