  1. No, they're Shinkos. They are..uh.. ok for what I use this bike for in the plains of Indiana.
  2. Thanks for that. She's a good old girl that just passed 100. Still has excellent compression, still running points. About the only mod is tubeless wheels via the marine adhesive trick.
  3. Apparently, this problem is from a loose or corroded 30 amp fuse connector. There is a long thread where Docc installed a 30 amp circuit breaker instead of the fuse holder. I think that has worked well. It does away with the tension of the fuse holder, and *should* be a good repair.
  4. I thought heated grips were kind of foo foo.. until I had them. sort of like heated seats on a car.
  5. The most likely failure is a flat. I have enough stuff to do that. Hopefully. I'm *not* going to do an overhaul on the side of the road.
  6. Uhh, I didn't say anything.. just posted the picture.
  7. We had Moby Jane, the great brown whale.. our only 4 wheel vehicle that had a name.
  8. I've had both, and seat height is similar. The V11S doesn't feel as top heavy, though. If it were me, I'd get the V11 and make the seat narrower in front.
  9. Strangely enough, motorcycles don't tell me their name.. except for Rosie, a Rosso Corsa that I rescued from an abusive owner. I tattooed it on her valve cover protectors the next day. She *was* a sweetheart, but had to move on. Airplanes tend to tell me their names.. there's "Footloose" and "Mouser" for instance.
  10. An old Chinese curse is "May you live in interesting times." I've done that in the 60s, now doing it again.
  11. Just to to "Home" and there is a "donate" tab.
  12. The only issue I'm having is occasionally an image will be turned 90 degrees when it's posted to a mail list. Other than that, it's really fast and easy.
  13. Can't see it for whatever reason..
  14. That's the first thing I tell new riders. Pretend you are invisible. If you expect a car to slow down or swerve to miss you, you are seriously screwing up.
  15. Removing the fairing is a piece of cake. You can tie it down with Canyon Dancers, or some such if you don't want to remove it. Using the work stand lets you remove the rear wheel. To remove the front, put the rear in the vise on your lift.. you *do* have one, don't you.. tie it down in back and raise the front with a jack under the pan.
  16. It is. I put LEDs in the tail lights, too. Mostly, I use the Lario for short trips, and over a period of time I'd notice the voltmeter going down. Putting on the brake lights would send the needle into the red. Now, it really makes no difference, and the needle stays centered. The LEDs just seem to take the load off the old wiring and connections, and I haven't had to put it on the charger since.
  17. I put one of these https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01C1AOSVS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 in the AeroLario for the princely sum of uh, 19 bucks. I made no attempt whatsoever to aim it, but I'll bet it would get me home if I were to get stuck some place after dark. Low beam High beam Plug and play.
  18. You'll enjoy that job..
  19. Yay hoo has never worked for me. I still get the random message from the small block group at my email. I gave up trying to post.
  20. That is way too clean, Docc. You're just *asking* for an oil leak..
  21. Strangely enough, for whatever reason I like Panthers, too. There were a couple of them that looked complete but not running in an auction 6 months or so ago, and I almost went. But I had an attack of common sense..
  22. It *is* a damn fine looking motorcycle. I haven't seen one in the flesh, much less ridden one.. but.. if I were in the market for a smaller bike, I'd have a close look. Oh, I remember the old Royal Enfields well.. and I don't want to revisit them.
  23. Never have heard of that one..
