  2. The wee rear fender has a nice, flowing shape to it, but . . . "That is all."
  3. I wish the MGS-01 body kit was still available.
  4. WHY oh WHY? ..I don't think "testicles" will work..they couldn't have had any...
  5. That people who do things like this should be castrated and choked with their own testicles That is all.
  6. Yesterday
  7. Usually not much fun getting the mail, but sometimes. Got the patches today, BIG THANK YOU. Cheers TOM. Sent fra min SM-S906B via Tapatalk
  8. I am still waiting for it. I gave it to MPH Cycles for a baseline after I purchased it. Then I decided to fix the Tachometer and refresh both Tachometer and Speedometer at Casa di Moto in Germany. That took the complete month of March and some, because of an issue with customs. The instruments were imported permanently in Germany instead of temporarily, and FedEx was trying to make us pay for it when the customs declaration was a clear "repair and return". I recently went to check and Davey is swimming in motorcycles to get ready for the riding season. As long as I have the V11 to roam around, I am fine. Besides, I never quite understood how he manages his work. I thought he followed FIFO, but it is not evident that he does. The first time I went there, I was informed the turn around time is about six weeks. Now that I have a little experience with them, I'd say six weeks are optimistic. I only make use of their services for what I can't do myself.
  9. A. Lopez should have been sanctioned for his pass on Joe Roberts in the final lap. This is the consensus. Joe Roberts would have finished 3rd instead of 4th. As usual, the stewards' decisions remain completely opaque to the rest of the field. I guess they like to be despised by everyone.
  10. @Guzzi-in-Vancouver, The original answer on this was never given. Was the poor running because the L/H throttle body had popped off? I know other things were done but what was the primary issue? Phil
  11. I had problems with the lever sticking when downshifting and not returning to center. Suspecting the worst, I peered around and found that I had reversed the bolt on the front spherical joint on the shift linkage rod. This caused the nut (now on the inside) to foul the trans case just enough to stop the lever from returning. So, I pulled it all off, cleaned and lubed everything, ran the bolt with the head toward the inside with the nut and washer on the outside and happy shifting resumed. I also placed a thin 8mm mylar washer between the inner end of the shift lever pivot and the threaded tab on the frame. A good slathering or Mobil1 synth grease and a washer and locknut on the right side of the frame tab keep it all properly snug. As usual, access to install the washer and locknut required an interesting combo of nut and washer taped to the socket in conjunction with various wobbly extensions. A few bodily contortions later, it's all happily in place now. No bloody knuckles, a personal best.

  13. I am reading that both Joan Mir and Luca Marini are actively seeking an out from Honda factory, which in turn puts Honda back into recruitment mode. Jack Miller seems to be a prime target. Lots of experience, and maybe surplus at KTM since Pedro Acosta is the obvious choice to join KTM Factory next year. I also read that PRAMAC is also sought after by Yamaha as their non factory team; that makes PRAMAC's decision "should I stay or should I go" the linchpin of next season's pilot's musical chairs. We all know that Martin wants a factory ride, so does Marquez now that he has shown the world that he still got it. PRAMAC said they will only declare their intentions on July 31st, at the expiration date of their option to continue with Ducati. So Ducati is going to have to make a blind decision to decide between Mar+quez or +tin. Marquez is 32 years old, while Martin is 26. But Marquez is a marketing coup for Ducati. They may always remain the manufacturer that gave Marquez the ability to equal Rossi on the number of World Championships won, and of course, they enabled Marquez to make a comeback in 2024.
  14. Thank you mate! I hope it will be a sweet long ride with this lady. I am ok with ups and downs, every relationship has'em
  15. Welcome to the madness mate!! They are a bike like no other and the riding experience rewards like no other.... You'll love it. Cheers Ps I was a goner as soon as I hit the starter at the shop when looking to buy it!
  16. You need a drill press, hand tools and a vise. Phil
  17. @po18guy just wanted to come back and say that it would appear this was a connections issues all along. I had to put this little project on hold for a couple of weeks due to life getting in the way. Today I pulled the bike out and took another look. One of the leads was very loose in its fitting, I pulled them all apart and cleaned and dried them off. After the bike was all back together the voltage being returned to the battery is looking good and a short test ride resulted in the bike running better than it has in months. Looks like I'm back on the road .
  18. @Lucky Phil You mentioned the fix is simple, but I thought it took machining of some sort, no?
  19. The threads will work BUT the issue is and always has been after you jump the thread hurdle is the hose from the tap to the pump is so short and has a gentle bend in it in two directions and any sort of reducer in that line which by its nature will create a 20-25mm long unbendable section in the hose creates problems both in fit, practicality of access and you now have 2 extra potential leak points. Phil
  20. I can't understand why people are going down the Macgyver route when the original screw tap is an excellent design that fits the very tight and awkward location well including the odd sized feed hose to the pump and all that's needed is a simple cheap mod to make it perfect. No need to reinvent the wheel here. Thats why I came up with the original fix. Phil
  21. Bikes with internal pump don't even have a petcock, so I left mine open. Last owner had bought 2 new pet cock's, didn't last long before leaking. Then I had the chance for free to invest . Got the sliimy O ring out, after some filing, correct one in. Discovered different tread lenght on the cocks, making it harder to make sure it woudn't come loose. Make sure all hoses are in order, NOT perfect but no more leaks with a tiny strip of JB w, a little redneck I know. 6mm outlet on the 90 degree adapter, shoud be enough, but why the 90 degree ? I have to check the houseing route tomorrow. Cheers Tom.
  22. Not sure that will screw in to the V11 tank: Compare here:
