  1. https://goldtop.co.uk/collections/jackets/products/the-bobber-jacket?variant=40068147970219 I've been wanting an asymmetrical zippered coat for awhile as I'm tired of cold air funneling in through the normal style zipper on cold days, but not ala Marlin Brando style. After much research, I went for the Goldtop Bobber, and to my surprise, in Oxblood. I cannot wait to get it! It has 1.4 thick leather, cool history, and very good reviews, even priced much better than similar styles. I was hoping for a Black Friday deal, but instead of a discount, they included two gifts, wool gater and a leather keychain.

  2. I also have an asymmetrical zip jacket! I chose this one: https://www.fc-moto.de/epages/fcm.sf/en_US/?ObjectPath=/Shops/10207048/Products/Merlin-Chester-D3O-Cafe-Moto-Lth-Jacket/SubProducts/Merlin-Chester-D3O-Cafe-Moto-Lth-Jacket-0001 This is my second Merlin Jacket. I also have a textile one which breathes for summer riding. Couldn't be happier with them.

  3. Nice. I like the asymmetrical zip too. I have one from Mars Leathers in Melbourne. They've changed the design a little, but it is more or less this model: https://marsleathers.com.au/collections/mens-jackets-leather/products/mars-brando however, I had it "custom fitted" and cancelled the epaulettes and the collar. Mine has a chinese collar with a press-stud flap to close it, and what they used to offer under the name "action back". That means there is a sort of pleat on both sides at the back to ease movement. The jacket weighs a ton; full-thickness cowhide, but I love it. And it is really cool. PS: black of course, but leather in that red is good.

  4. I too use Wiki for basic knowledge. It is actually a good source. But some people like to dismiss it because it doesn't agree with their version of facts. But it is publicly reviewed, if someone posts info there that is wrong someone will flag it as wrong and it will be corrected. People like to do that.

  5. Wiki is one of the first places I go to when I want to do initial research or understanding. There you can find cited original sources if you want to go deeper. It's open sourced and publicly reviewed. I'm not sure why it gets so much flak. Perhaps it's because wiki is a culmination of many primary sources and therefore in itself cannot be accepted as primary research for schools and academics.

  6. Why? I know what the Wiki is and how reliable it is as source. For a quick look it is good enough for most things.

  8. He's Willie Nelson's son. He had a good start.

  9. Yup,I almost commented when I first listened to him. I've never heard of Lukas Nelson,I usually don't like falsetto singers;but he's so real & heartfelt, that really works for me. As a minimally skilled, finger picker,I spend most of my time in the first chord position on the guitar; What a talent he's been blessed with, that's not just 10,000 hrs of practice to get that good. His musical theory, knowledge, touch & skill on the fingerboard,it's in another world.

  13. Yeah, this one is the second for me too. The first one got pinched here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Tote_Hotel during the time I worked there in the late '80s. I actually saw it again a couple of months later here https://www.facebook.com/p/Tankerville-Arms-Hotel-100063457777673/ just over a kilometre up the street, but wasn't able to reclaim it. It took me close to 20 years to get the second and current one. I'm quite sure it will see me out. It has survived an accident with bravour, and just keeps on going on.

  14. Yes Mick you would need the 15RC ecu to run Lambda. Strange how my bike runs and rides perfectly without Lambda as did the WSB race bike I worked on at one point. On the WSB spec bike one of the mapping mods needed after the usual dyno tuning to Lambda output was for the rider who in various areas needed something other than what was best torque/stio correct to get the throttle feel he needed. 15. Ha ha Mate I'm on my second Mars LeMans jacket.... I still have my first but when I got back into bikes 13-14 years ago it didn't fit... Funny how you gain a bit of girth over the years eh! They are very well made and robust and reckon it'll see me out! Cheers

  17. Finally got back to working on greenie, after waaayyy too long of letting it sit on the rack. Finished valves (well, just confirmed they were adjusted, as it appears I did them earlier and forgot). Valve covers and valpolinis back on, awaiting new head protectors. cleaning up one small area of rust where the PO bad storage season caused the rust. Re-assembling Speedo. next gotta go back and figure out what to do with that air sensor that’s floating (taped into an empty water bottle, from PO). I think docc or someone told me way back of a good place to affix that (it came with pods, so no air box). And then decide whether to tidy up the existing turn signals (1 bad housing, 1 bad bulb, one bent stem), or upgrade. Trick there is to find that will nicely fit the existing mount setup…. Will an ‘03 turn signal fit on a 99 sport mount? Looks the same (and still halogen).

  18. That is, indeed, a handsome jacket! And this certainly looks like a place a proper motorcycle jacket could be had . . .

  19. Sorry to go slightly off piste…….would there be any benefit to retro fitting a lambda sensor to an earlier model. I’m asking as I’ve bought a mistral crossover which has a lambda sensor port (currently blanked )

  21. I really don't have a problem with the idea of an electric motorcycle. I was able to have a short drive of a Tesla some years ago. The experience confirmed what I had read about the characteristics of an electric motor, i.e. the go from zero without any hesitation. Fantastic. That in a motorcycle would be heaps of fun. As far as the sound goes, I can live without loud exhausts. In fact I'm hoping the "electro revolution" proceeds fast enough that I will get to experience city traffic that isn't loud.

  22. Francesco Bagnaia will be 2023 MotoGP world champion if: if he finishes within the 5 firsts, independently of Martin's position. if he finishes between or at sixth to tenth position providing Martin does not win the race if he finishes between or at eleventh to fourteenth position with Martin finishing no better than third if he finishes fifteenth or worse providing Martin is outside of the podium Jorge Martin will be 2023 MotoGP world champion if: If he wins the race and Francesco Bagnaia finishes no better than sixth if he finishes second and Francesco Bagnaia finishes no better than eleventh if he finishes third and Francesco Bagnaia finishes no better than fifteenth. I don't see how Bagnaia can lose the championship if not for a race incident. Martin has no leeway. He will have to attack for the win. Bagnaia only needs to administer based on Martin's position; to play it safe, he only needs to be fifth overall, and the victory is in the bag.

  23. Clearly "Mapping 8" did not mean "Let Pecco win". It was pretty clear that "Mapping 8" was the message meant to tell DiGi it was time to go, as that was exactly what he did when he received that message. Also, given the history of that message at the factory Ducati team it seems unlikely Ducati would have picked that message to tell DiGi to let Pecco win. I don't think Ducati is that stupid. If they did want to throw team orders into it I am pretty sure they would have used a different message. But it seems there was no team orders, and that is what Ducati has been saying all along. Well, they do admit to one team order, don't knock other Ducati mounted racers down. That was a team order Ducati found out they needed. I know people like a good conspiracy theory, but there is no there there. All you should get out of that is a chuckle, as it was funny.

  24. “Then we decided on a signal to give. ‘And when you see this [Mapping 8] message, you need to go’. “So I sat there [behind Bagnaia] and honestly, it was difficult because I didn’t see the pit board for half the race. I didn’t know how many laps were left. But then I saw ‘Mapping 8’ and I said, ‘now is the moment to go’. So I started to push and I did the move on Pecco.” di Giannantonio's crew chief Frankie Carchedi likewise told pitlane reporter Simon Crafar: "We sent a message because he wanted to know when there were 5 laps left in the race. It wasn't anything special. I think people have got the wrong idea." Ducati sporting director Paolo Ciabatti confirmed the message came as a surprise to the factory:

  28. Hello, Many here either back off or remove the idle adjustment screw on the right side throttle body and only use the left side idle screw for idle adjustment. This is because there's play in the ball end connection of the rod that links the two throttle bodies. The throttle return spring on the right side TB will remove all of that play as long as the right side idle screw isn't making contact with the throttle cam. Hope this helps...
