  1. Just throwing it out there, I *rarely* use this but for extreme heat/humidity riding. A Thor impact rig se. It's made, I think, to be worn over a light shirt when moto racing but I wear it as an undergarment with a just loose jersey over. I have worn it alone under the Aerostich. Basically just armor laced together with a thin mesh shirt. Close to being shirtless in the wind, but armored up. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005CN5IX4/ref=cm_sw_r_pi_dp_y0-qvb0N7SVQ5
  2. The "Sport" was the base model. "Cafe Sport" was uniquely accessorized special. '04 and maybe '05.
  3. HST has a spot in my memories as well. I've read all his books and a few other writings, including accounts of him by others. Questionable motives, questionable methods. I'll just say that I think he was a very, very good writer. Steadman is an original master. The 96 CR was/is my fav
  4. “There are some things nobody needs in this world, and a bright-red, hunch-back, warp-speed 900cc cafe racer is one of them—but I want one anyway, and on some days I actually believe I need one. That is why they are dangerous.” Song of the Sausage Creature. Hunter S Thompson. and the great Ralph Steadman
  5. agree. It's pleasant in the sweepers though. Very stable. Calming
  6. Lennon Clapton Mitchell Richards. 1968 feeling nostalgic lately
  7. On the bike I still have I used copper plumbing bends and =can't recall what type hose= but it has lasted awhile now. Use your best judgement on what will tolerate oil. Many say don't use auto heater hose. I made mine when those preformed replacements were $40.+
  8. I've had 4 6speed V11. A 2000, 2X 2002, and an 03. All had crank vent tubes in various stages of disintegration. They aren't made to handle the heat and oil mix. At least the oem's weren't. Leaks often presented dripping onto the center of the crossover. this one. https://www.mgcycle.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=71&products_id=1186
  9. that's a beauty @Tomchri !
  10. That be the motor my dad used in the minibike built for a 14 y/o using a frame just like this
  11. yeah, the pic was in the fall and I got out in early May. The mop was genetic 😉
  12. First "real" street bike. Recent separation from the Army. '69 H1 500 Dad-built Honda powered Rupp was the true first.
  13. It absolutely is. I feel it every time I ride it. Unusual and unique. No other bike creates the same feel. I don't know what the 'best' bike in the world is, but none I've ridden pull together as many sensory notes quite the same. so "glow" works
  14. brief shot of Mark Volman in there I think. (Mothers/Turtles) Flo & Eddie played at our club early 80's. Really fun, and funny guys. Took the piss out of Journey, while singing 'Happy Together' for stealing a base line.
  15. I owned a Road Glide for awhile. Best distance tour bike I've ridden. Surprisingly good handling for it's size.
  16. The best racin day in Indy in memory. Infield turn 3 - 4
  17. The weight limit listed on the rack is 3kg. I have toured with 4 to 5 times that piled on it. The rack itself is strong enough for more. The Mfg concern is likely the mount points which are the weak spot. They are the tabs pitifully welded to the frame and carry the weight and vibration of the mufflers as well as the passenger pegs. The use of the rack provides some stability to the area imo, though the extra 'levered' weight should be considered when loading. They also maybe were considering controlability/liability with the weight 'warning' I wouldn't pay it much thought.
  18. hate to annoy but 99.99% of the time, it's the hose. It can 'look' fine but at the rear where it attaches and just above the clamp, there could be deterioration only visible with close inspection, ie: move it around a bit.
  19. Your shop! what a marvel. How can you ever leave it?
  20. clocks were created for appointments if you asked the universe what time it was, it would reply "now"
  21. mine did that after first service at dealer. it was overfilled
