  1. The Cowpunchers? Japanese guys keeping it real! Yes!
  2. I suppose for me it's simply adoration. Even my 'junk' bikes have had a place inside. No way could I leave a prized bike in the elements, even covered. I've built an addition to my shop/garage that's large enough for 4 and is well insulated and no exterior openings. I use an oil radiant heater in that space in winter which is very economical and keeps the temp from going below 45f. This prevents the destructive condensation that Indiana weather and humidity tend to inflict on metal surfaces. I have in the past brought a motorcycle into the house for winter. Parked in the dining room. A heated garage or outbuilding is as necessary to my life as a living space in a home. My profession required it, and all my tinkerings and hobbies revolve around having a shop of some kind. So there will always be a place indoors for toys.
  3. I'm running an original Roper plate. It was 'almost' a non issue for me. I used a rat tail file in the hole on the top side ever so slightly and it cleared nicely. Others have had different experiences. Gasket material obviously plays a role. For myself, it could have been slightly thicker and still worked.
  4. are they thicker? Thinking about the kickstand mount issue/non-issue already present with the earlier plates
  5. He's Willie Nelson's son. He had a good start.
  6. but you could be having wine and cheese on that ride from 2018.
  7. Now lets talk about how each one of us would feel if rear ended by an autonomous vehicle. Or a loved one. Bring it home. I'll start, I would be pissed. "Statistically safer" is subjective. May be, maybe not a stretch, but you all recall the 737 issues of a few years ago. A maneuvering system so smart even (apparently) at least two/4 pilots were outsmarted, killing a few hundred. Yes I know, lack of training was blamed. Tell it to the loved ones. Just making the (my) point. Everything innovative, high tech and bloody awesome, doesn't always result in the best interests of 'some' of humanity. I for one don't want to be part of the experiment while they perfect their latest gadget. When you read Kindoy's post and think 'that should not have happened' you were 100% correct. EV's are fine*. AI is a potential disaster. I will now claim age related autonomy *much more to this. can't/wont speak to it. watch yer 6
  8. What the car sensors "saw" or didn't see should be on record in it's memory, as well as whether auto pilot was engaged at collision. It probably happened as described, but humans have kind of a bad record as well. Whatever the outcome - driver at fault. Idiot.
  9. KINDOY2 that was in the coliseum during the state fair. I was just outside the building listening.
  10. It's the first new offering to interest me since seeing the Tenni
  11. I think they're going for eXtreme. 'Yer not just a bad dude, yer a really bad dude.' Secondarily, it can mean whatever the potential buyer want's it to mean. An optional identity. "s" has played out, no?
  12. nice docc. Ima fan. "Ain't no money in poetry That's what sets the poet free" One of Guy's friends, Townes Van Zandt and one of his best songs, with one of the best accompaniments.
  13. I bought this 3 days ago https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00GD49GTS?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
  14. Hollywood has always been out of touch with the 'common' folk in society, and their depictions of such have always missed the mark, especially if they have a bone to pick with the segment portrayed. I hope this is not the case and it's just a gangster movie - with motorcycles. This looks good and I certainly look forward to seeing it (when it's free) for the story, the set, and those gorgeous vintage Harley's. Hoping for some trick riding scenes, and no agenda.
  15. "Always carry a flagon of whiskey in case of snakebite, and furthermore, always carry a small snake." ― W.C. Fields
  16. 2nd gear and close to home if lucky like I was
  17. The first tune I played and sang for my girl 18 yrs ago was A Pirate Looks at Forty. She was a sailor. It worked.
  18. Welcome. A couple quick thoughts.. Handling: I've owned both frame lengths and can attest to the short/red frame handles considerably better. That said, it no longer interests me to push my limits on tight twisty roads, and the later long frame is great for me. I found no twitch or unsettling handling aspects with my red frame. Staintune 'alleges' no tuning necessary when using their cans. IDK for sure. I do know you'll eventually want a more open can. Electric gremlins are a concern but easily sorted once found. As with any 22 y/o bike, how it has been stored would be a top concern for myself if I were looking. Weak and deteriorating connections are negatively impacted by corrosion, and I would avoid a 'crusty, rusty, left outside' example. Even with a good clean find, I'd recommend attending to every connection. The Roper, or slosh plate is a small investment with a potentially large payoff. Just get one. Green is good.
  19. I rather like the black CF mud guard Phil. This bike pictured with blacked side body panels and muffler hangers has a good look, and could maybe provide some 'black' balance. Whatever you do your bike will be like a woman who could wear anything and always be beautiful.
  20. I got one of the last 3 that MGCycles offered. Scud, myself, and (forgot who* else) got on a wait list and eventually received them. The GU01211640 hub came with the kit, as seen in the photo. It is the same as the oem in the Tenni. I re-used the original. * might have been @craigsinclair that got the other one? I recall a member doing the 5 speed RAM kit successfully and posting about it. ??
