  1. I'm still sure I read about a replacement on which the connector on the top was a bit different, but still worked with a 6.3 mm blade connector. I'm fairly sure it was here, but still can't remember exactly if that was the case, or who wrote about it. Sorry...
  2. That makes sense, as long as it isn't done the way it was in mine. The spacer was about 3mm too short, and was "shimmed up" with a slice off a bit of pipe that had obviously been cut free-hand with a hacksaw. Not even close to "square", so it was no wonder the bearings were shot. What sort of a gorilla does that sort of bullshit?
  3. Just what I was going to write. The spacer in mine was too short.
  4. So I'm almost completely sure that the V85/V9 clutch mechanism would fit in there. PS: very pretty.
  5. Without wanting to de-rail the coffe stop aspect, is that a new, small-block V7? If so, you can almost certainly put a V85 / V9 clutch in it. Easy to do, although it takes a bit of time, and worlds of difference. I've done the mod to my V35 Imola, and am seriously thinking about doing it to my Breva 750. There is a thread on the topic here somewhere, but given that I got back to Germany from Australia this afternoon (30 hours travel with about 5 hours sleep on the way...) I'm not motivated to go looking for the link. If you're interested, mention it here and I'll try and dig it up.
  6. I've seen that rumour a few times, but am not convinced they will go ahead with it. There is too much marketing potential in maintaining the V2 across the frame, I reckon. We'll see.
  7. Indeed I did, and very happy about that I am. I'm back home in Germany now. We arrived this afternoon. About 30 hours travel time, and about 5 hours sleep on the way, so I'm not feeling all that chirpy right now. It was great to be able to put faces to a couple of names. I got to see all of my immediate family, which was good, and a couple of good long-term friends. It didn't feel like a holiday, but I'm glad I made the trip. Maybe I'll be able to get a bit more time for the next visit, so I don't feel so much like I'm ticking the boxes on a tight schedule. I hope so. We'll see...
  8. I managed to find an hour to go off an meet @Lucky Phil the other day. The coffee machine does indeed work very well, and the V10 Greenie is very pretty. Thanks Phil for a very pleasant visit.
  9. @Desdinova it seems you have recognised the value of this move. For anyone else, do this. It was recommended to me by a highly knowledgeable member of various German forums. Looking at the situation under the seat made it immediately obvious that this simple mod was very sensible and useful. If you haven't done it yet, do it soon.
  10. I suppose it is not really helpful, but a bit of essential knowledge.... Tractors for real men: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lanz_Bulldog And for those with sporting aspirations: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lamborghini_Trattori
  11. Welcome to the forum.
  12. Guzzidiag is reading out the values that the ECU is recieving, which is also the information that Guzzi's own diagnosis program sees. I'm assuming that if Guzzidiag cannot see a glitch, it is also not significant enough to affect the engine, because the ECU would not be seeing it either, and that Guzzi's own program also wouldn't register it. And the graphic that Guzzidiag generates is very nice to look at and easy to read.
  13. I don't have any personal "before and after" experience, only hearsay. What I have read, over and over, is that Guzzi's run better with a crossover. PS: as @Tomchri mentione, getting the alternator cover off is a pain. I've considered making a hole in it with an easily removable cover in the middle to be able to get to the bolt in the alternator to turn over the motor for doing valve clearance and such. Might still happen, but the plan isn't fully ripened yet.
  14. No need for that. It was noisy, but nice. The people at the table one is sitting at make the music.
  15. Yes. The V100 motor is water cooled, and that is what is in the new Stelvio.
  16. As I understand it, Luigi put that in there for a reason, and he was right in doing so.
  17. Or with Guzzidiag. There is a function in there that makes a nice graph that shows what the TPS is doing.
  18. So, we made it to Bungendore. @pete roper it was great to meet you and June. Sorry we got there later than planned. I hope the rest of your evening went well.
  19. Yes. I've always had good dealings with the place, but I hear that the seller can be, shall we say, a bit over-convinced about his own opinion. Whatever, the seller posted a picture showing the connectors on the Ducati regulator and the ones on his regulator, both with a Vernier gauge on them showing that they are both 4 mm plugs. The difference is, the ones on the Ducati regulator are a smooth cylinder, 4 mm all the way down, and the ones on the Silent Hektik regulator are shaped like most other bullet connector, i.e. 4 mm at the base end, but tapering down a bit towards the pointy end. They are, however, no doubt good quality connectors. The Silent Hektik bloke is picky about connectors.
  20. I'd love to, mate, but it's not going to happen this time. The closest I'm expecting to get is a visit at a mate's place somewhere near Arthur's Seat. Time is tight. We've got just over three weeks, and I could easily fill 6.
  21. Yeah, I know. Thanks for the invite. I'll be arriving in Canberra on the 26th. July to visit my sister (coming down from the north), and moving on towards Albury-Wodonga on the 28th. If I reckon I can fit it in, I'll let you know. PS: where are you exactly? So's I can have a look at the map and see if I'm expecting to be coming past there directly.
  22. the wonderful wizard of Oz(tralia). Given that I am here often, I thought I'd mention that for the next three weeks I probably wont be. We're flying to Australia tomorrow to visit my family. My last visit was in 2016, and I haven't seen one of my brothers since 2013. Flying in to Brisbane, where a former flatmate of mine lives, the brother I haven't seen since 2013 2 hours south of there. 1400 km down to Canberra to my sister, 450 odd km south of there to my mother and another brother, 1 1/2 hours west of there to my father and another brother, and then 300 odd km south to Melbourne for a couple of days. I'm expecting to cover about 2,500 km in three weeks. I hope it all goes to plan. PS: also my first long trip in a camper van. With my girlfriend. Hope that works, too.
  23. Criticism: one sees a man singing into a square microphone. The first time that I noticed, the gold side is facing the camera. Later on, the black side is facing the camera, and later again the gold side again. The gold side is the front, into which one must sing in order for the microphone to function. If you're going to go to the extent of filming your playback video with microphones to make it look "real", then find out which side of the mic is the front. Or leave out the mics completely and admit that is is only for the video. Idiots....
  24. No, I'm pretty sure that is a different Muth. The designer Muth is most likely no longer working. He was born in 1935. Either way, there is no mention of the mirrors here... https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hans_A._Muth
