  2. I came across these old personal images I had posted on the internet years ago. I had forgotten all about them but when I went looking for images of brake reaction rods etc there they were. This was my Bimota DB1 with its custom alloy fuel tank (hidden) its Racing Campag wheels ( hand cut slick on the back) Staintune mufflers made for me by Sandy that owns Staintune, four piston Brembo calipers and other mods I cant remember.   3. So my buddy Mike has been filming a series of interviews at his Cul De Sac. It's a way to socially distance and still get a motorcycle fix during this wee pandemic. It's mostly British bikes because, well, that's what his channel is about but that doesn't mean there can't be some diversity.   5. Working with a freind to close deal on an almost "new" 2002 V11 LeMans. This will join my 2003 V11 (currently in garage with broken pawl return spring) and is my 4th MG. As I understand it was a part of collector's portfolio that was auctioned off, bought by a dealer and resold. Had 3 miles on it when purchased, current owner has about 2500 miles on odo now. It is all stock except for the handle bar risers and rear rack. Excited, waiting for DMV to get title squared away, send check to owner and have shipper to pick up in next few weeks. Some of you probably know my bikes better than I do..at this point as both have been listed in this forum before, My "Greenie" was formerly "Scuds Greenie", and My Rosso Mandello is #49 formerly owned by Surj. Ive been riding Italian bikes over 50 years..Mostly Aprilia and Ducati..I havent owned a Moto Guzzi for 3-4 decades when I had a MK1....I Re inspired my self on MG while Riding in Italy 2 years ago and spending some time At Lake Como and in Mandello del Lario..And now I am seriously hooked on

  8. Almost twenty years ago I saw a bike (V11 Lemans Tenni) on the cover of a popular motorcycle magazine and I thought, "that is the most beautiful motorcycle I've ever seen." I was riding a BMW R1100R at the time, quite a good bike, but something about the Guzzi caught and stayed with me. I found, and bought a red 2003 V11 Lemans in Kentucky, and rode it happily for years. I decided I need something for the mountain twisties where I'd later moved (not understanding the limitation was the rider and not the machine) and I bought a KTM 990 SMT.   9. Reviving this old thread. Its been nearly 18 months since my infamous oiled clutch incident. I know quote a few of you inmates got a laugh from that. I'm pleased to report the bike is finally back on the road with a new clutch and running better than ever. I used the time off road to also replace the hideous red and green bling on the bike with oem parts. I also had my pork chops, which were faded pink repainted. I replaced the battery, air filter, rear brake pads, shift spring, and other misc. items. It looks great and runs fantastic....just in time for spring. The only job remaining

  13. Hello All, New to the forum. I've kept my eye open for a clean V11 since selling a Thruxton R a few months back. Well I got lucky and found this beauty in Phoenix. It just arrived to my home in Central Oregon and I couldn't be happier. She parks right next to her Griso brother in the garage:). A few questions: 1.) Any idea who makes this rack? Guzzi? 2.) Any suggestions for a tasteful tail bag to attach to the rack? 3.) Any tricks to fix the tripmeter (it's way off, maybe tracks 1/3rd of the mileage I ride)?   15. Whilst of limited interest to most here I thought I'd gauge whether anybody would be interested in a documentary of a single spark 1400 Nuovo Hi-Cam build? I've just acquired a 'Repairable write off' Griso that I'm going to use as a test platform for final development, (I've already built two 1400 single sparkers.). I'm not willing to have my old warhorse off the road while playing silly-buggers with the motor so the idea is I do the build, iron out any problems, then fling the final product in the 'Green Horror'. This will be my swansong. I hope to be retired within a year.

  17. I purchased this bike 13 years ago from Ken Johnson at Atlas Cycle in Tulsa, Oklahoma just before Ken retired and sold the business. Ken told me that it had been on display at the shop for many years. The bike hadn't been licensed for the road since 1977. All of the tinware retains its original paint. The frame and other black bits were re-painted, and the rusty hardware was cadmium plated. I tore the bike down, ordered a Gliardoni cylinder set and for the next 12 years the bike was in boxes. Last year I got serious about finishing it. Today I finished the wiring. I installed

  20. And the prize goes to Shaun! Well done that man! Got the bike out today and had the screech back again. I then noticed that the lights were dimming as soon as I touched the clutch lever along with the screech.... WTF I thought and then saw the poxy starter button was stuck in. The clutch lever switch was engaging the starter! Came back on here to post the update and saw your post!

  22. Well my 2004 V11 LeMans arrived today. So I met the shipper, brought her home, then tried to figure out how to remove the damn seat! Eventually, with the help of the Internet and multiple searches, I located the keyed seat release on her throttle side. :-0 Rigged up the battery tender and hope to fire her up tomorrow.

  25. Bought this motorcycle in 1979 from a guy in Marion VA. I was 22 years young. Rode the heck out of it until winter of 1982. That was shortly after my oldest son was born. The bike took a back seat to other life priorities (and my wife's insistence that I give up road bikes until both of our sons were grown). She was okay, however, with riding the dirt instead. So the Eldo got shuffled around, into sheds, onto and off front porches, finally into a garage I built. At one point I tried to give it away. Gratefully I never carried out with that plan.   26. Changed out the stock mufflers for these nice Mistrals. These have a bit more rumble and pop than the stock mufflers. I really like the sound of the stock pipes, a rich deep tenor and smoother than these. These are more open sounding, and they suit the V11’s rough and rowdy ways very well. The bike seems to like it, she’s running with a good spirit, like riding a Mustang horse if-ya-know-whadda-mean! Also: the stock mufflers weigh 9.89 lb each, total pair is 19.78 lb. These Mistral conical carbon fiber mufflers weigh 4.65 lb each, total pair is 9.3 lbs.

  30. Well here it is out and about today. First ride.I started off trying a std V11 map. Strangely my bike has a very early 1.5M ecu and for some reason doesn't present any baro pressure info. Paul Minnaert seems to recall the early version ecus have something different about their baro sensor. He's going to get back to me when he has access to his info.Hopefully this just means for the moment the baro pressure is set to a default. The other odd thing about my ecu is it's loaded with a 2002 LeMans map. I've owned this bike for 10 years so pre Guzzidiag days so how this has gotten in there I dont kn

  33. Evening All! So I had a little wiring issue with my wee Monza, and decided to draw out a coloured wiring diagram to gain some control over the problem. Went marvellously- all sorted now yay. I ended up enjoying it so much that I decided to draw out the V11 diagram in colour too. So, if any of you fine gentlemen would like a copy of this let me know. It’s been a tough year, that’s for sure, so no charge for this unless you’re feeling flush and want to punt a few quid my way.   35. Back in February my brother came out for The One Show and despite it being a bit "brisk" we got out for a little ride. It was his first time on a V11 Sport. He didn't mind it. Fast forward to yesterday... He and a buddy went down to SC (not too far away) and snagged this thing. It wasn't expensive. Apparently the owner got some Italian lust and had to have it. Kept the bike inside the house. The master of the house (wife) wasn't too please with the new mistress and made him sell it. Very low miles. Engine paint is, of course, not good. The rest looks nice.
